Hooterm

SSH terminal, SFTP and tunnels

Free · In‑App Purchases

A native SSH client for iPhone, iPad and Mac: terminal sessions, SFTP files, tunnels, jump hosts and snippets in one encrypted workspace. Hooterm is a native SSH client for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Connect to your own servers with a password or a private key, keep several live terminal sessions open side by side, browse remote files over SFTP, forward ports, route through jump hosts and run saved snippets. Your servers, keys and snippets stay in one encrypted workspace that follows you across your devices. TERMINAL • Sessions stay open while you move between servers; switch with a tap or a two-finger swipe. • A row of the keys a phone keyboard lacks — esc, tab, ctrl, alt, arrows, F-keys and more. Reorder it to fit how you work. • A panel in place of the keyboard for keys, snippets, command history and themes. • Paste the saved password of the server with one tap when sudo asks for it. • Nine themes that colour the whole session, eleven typefaces, pinch to resize. The terminal goes light and dark with the system. • Find in the output. SERVERS • Groups with environment labels, so production never looks like staging. • Import from ~/.ssh/config and from a Termius export. • Jump hosts, local, remote and dynamic port forwarding. FILES • An SFTP browser for every open session: upload, download, rename, copy, move and delete. SECURITY • SSH credentials are kept in an encrypted vault protected by a key in the device Keychain. • A changed server key is never accepted silently: you see the old and the new fingerprint and decide. • Face ID or Touch ID can lock the app, and its contents are hidden in the app switcher. • Encrypted sync keeps readable vault contents off Hooterm servers. Hooterm Free includes the complete personal SSH toolkit. Hooterm Team adds shared encrypted workspaces, invitations, roles and team recovery for up to five members. Hooterm 1.1 is redesigned on iPhone, iPad and Mac. • A new terminal on iPhone: open sessions under the output, a row of keys you can reorder, and a panel of keys, snippets, history and themes in place of the keyboard. • Paste the server's saved password with one tap when sudo asks for it. • Themes now colour the whole session, with eleven typefaces and pinch to resize. The terminal follows the system's light and dark appearance. • Find in the output. • Servers are grouped into cards with environment labels; on Mac and iPad the table opens with the most recent connections first. • A dropped session says so and offers to reconnect. If a server's key changes while reconnecting, you see both fingerprints before anything connects. • More private keys are recognized, and keys can be added with an account signed in. • New marks for your servers, and many fixes.
