Four new galleries: - Space: photographs from NASA — Jupiter, Pluto, distant galaxies, auroras from orbit. - Earth from Above: 100 photographs of Earth from orbit, most of them from the Landsat satellites. - Early Colour Photography: colour photographs from the 1890s to the 1940s. - Maps & Star Charts: hand-coloured world maps and celestial atlases. The collection is now nearly 800 pictures across 20 galleries. Pictures now fade gently into one another when the frame moves through your Favourites The gallery and Favourites screens were rebuilt: bigger pictures, a cleaner highlight, and the same layout everywhere. Picture detail screens are tidier. With a mat, the clock now sits on the picture instead of overlapping the mat's edge. In Settings, up and down now always move one row at a time.

Every picture in the collection has been re-checked by hand and re-cut to fill the screen exactly, at 3840 x 2160. Nothing is stretched, letterboxed or awkwardly cropped any more. - Added the National Gallery of Art, alongside The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art. - Removed pictures that never belonged on a television: faint pencil studies, near-square works that lost half their width to the screen, and blank sketchbook pages. - Your Favourites and the picture on the frame are now kept on the device, so the frame carries on working when the connection drops. - Browsing is faster, and a movement now fills instantly instead of loading in pieces.
