CowPro - Herd Management App
Livestock Management
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
A notebook works until it doesn't. Which cow was served when, which ewe is due for her vaccine, how much went out on feed this month. Past a certain number of animals, nobody keeps all that in their head.
CowPro is a livestock management app built for people who actually run the barn. Cattle, sheep and goats sit in the same account, on the same screen. In the parlor, out on pasture, on the back of the tractor: if your phone is on you, your records are on you.
▬▬▬ HERD & PADDOCK MANAGEMENT ▬▬▬
• Farm tag and official state tag kept separately, with tag color
• Breed, sex, date of birth, name, photo, notes
• Paddock and pen assignment, transfers between paddocks
• Groups: fattening calves, dry cows, pregnant ewes, each tracked apart
• Exit records with the reason: sold, slaughtered, died
▬▬▬ PEDIGREE & BREEDING STOCK ▬▬▬
• Dam and sire links, a family tree generation by generation
• Catch inbreeding before the mating happens
• Breeding score to help you select
▬▬▬ VACCINES, HEALTH & DISEASE ▬▬▬
• Vaccination, disease, parasite and treatment records per animal
• Vaccines coming up turn into reminders on their own
▬▬▬ BREEDING, PREGNANCY & CALVING ▬▬▬
• Heat, artificial insemination, natural service, pregnancy, birth and abortion records
• After a service, the app tells you when the pregnancy check is due
• Expected calving or lambing date is worked out for you
• Gestation length, dry-off and weaning periods are set separately for cattle and for sheep and goats
▬▬▬ MILK YIELD ▬▬▬
• Morning, noon and evening milkings logged separately
• Record per animal or across a whole paddock
• Milk fed to calves and price per liter included
• A drop in yield shows up on the chart right away
▬▬▬ WEIGHING & LIVEWEIGHT ▬▬▬
• Weight records, growth history and daily liveweight gain on fattening stock
▬▬▬ FEED STOCK & RATIONS ▬▬▬
• Feed cards with dry matter, metabolizable energy, crude protein, fiber, calcium, phosphorus
• Build a ration for a group and see the cost of it
• Daily use comes off stock by itself, and you get a warning before feed runs out
▬▬▬ INCOME, EXPENSES & ACCOUNTS ▬▬▬
• Milk sales, animal trading, feed, vet, fuel, labor, all categorized
• Attach a photo of the receipt or invoice to the entry
• Due dates, payment methods and multiple currencies
• Supplier and customer accounts: who owes you, who you owe
▬▬▬ REPORTS ▬▬▬
• Animal list, pedigree, fertility, breeding and finance reports
• Choose your own columns and export
▬▬▬ YOUR TEAM ▬▬▬
Add your workers, your partner, your vet. You decide who sees which section and who can change it. Employ a herd manager and you can open the records without handing over everything.
▬▬▬ CALENDAR & NOTIFICATIONS ▬▬▬
Vaccines, pregnancy checks, dry-off dates, expected calvings. All on the calendar, with a notification when the day comes.
▬▬▬ COMMUNITY ▬▬▬
Ask other farmers, answer a few yourself, list animals for sale. Useful if you are still working out what herd management involves.
▬▬▬ SAME RECORDS ON EVERY DEVICE ▬▬▬
Everything sits in the cloud. What you type on the phone is there on the computer, and you sign in to the web panel at cowpro.net with the same account. Lose the phone, keep the records. English and Turkish.
▬▬▬ WHO USES IT ▬▬▬
Family dairy farms, beef and fattening units, sheep and goat farms, breeding operations, vets, agricultural engineers and students.
▬▬▬ PRICING ▬▬▬
The first month is free and we do not ask for a card. After that you pick a plan by animal and user count. Every feature is in every plan, no hidden extras.
If you have ever built a livestock spreadsheet and then broken your own formula, this one is for you. Give it a month. Going back to the notebook is the hard part.
