静かな一室に、線香が一本。
坐る時間を選ぶと、その長さの線香が立つ。25分なら13cm。
火を点けたら、残りの丈がそのまま残りの時間になる。
坐っているあいだ、数字は出ない。
止静の鈴が三度鳴って坐がはじまり、
燃え尽きると放禅の鈴が一度鳴る。
煙はその場で計算している。火種から細い糸のようにまっすぐ昇り、
34〜47cm 上でほどける。逆光では白く、横からは青い。
画面を回すと変わる。
鈴の音は、チベット鉢を叩いて測った実測値から組み立てている。
坐禅堂の板に刻まれた四句（偈）と、
道元禅師の坐禅法（普勧坐禅儀）も収めた。
