Jokbo World: Family Tree
Korean genealogy & clan roots
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Find your surname's clan origin and draw your own family tree. Your family's record, made on your phone — digitize that old paper family register at last!
Your family's story disappears in a single generation if no one writes it down.
Jokbo World turns the Korean family register — the jokbo — into something you can build, carry, and share from your phone. Add people as cards, connect them, and the generational chart draws itself.
■ WHO IT'S FOR
· Anyone who wants to preserve the stories their elders told them
· People curious about their surname's clan seat (bongwan) and founding ancestor
· Clan associations and family gatherings that need relationships mapped out
· Parents who want to show their children where the family came from
· Anyone digitizing an old paper jokbo before it falls apart
■ WHAT YOU CAN DO
· Build your family tree
Add a person card, then link parents, spouses, and children. The multi-generation chart lays itself out automatically. Pan and zoom freely, or jump straight back to your own card at any time.
· Record each person properly
Keep Chinese characters, birth and death years, generation rank, titles, photos, and notes together, so a name becomes a life.
· Export to PDF
Save your completed tree as a PDF to print for a family gathering or send to relatives.
· Search surnames and clan seats
Look up Korean surnames and their clan seats to trace where your family began and who its founding ancestor was.
· Find historical figures
See notable figures in history who share your clan lineage.
· Family community
Share tips and family news with other members through the feed and boards.
■ HOW IT WORKS
1. Sign up, then open the Tree tab at the bottom.
2. Tap [New] to clear the sample tree.
3. Start from yourself and add your parents and children one by one.
■ PRICING
· Free for up to 20 people in your tree.
· Need a larger tree? Upgrade with a one-time in-app purchase.
· The free version shows a banner ad at the top of the screen. Purchasing a plan removes it.
· Your tree is saved to your account, so it follows you to a new device.
A single name written down today outlives everyone who remembers it.
