Every other trope app plays the tune at you. None of them listen. You can play a recording a hundred times and still not know whether what came out of your mouth matched it. A tutor knows, which is why families spend thousands on one.
Pink Trope listens, and it grades both halves of the job.
WORDS AND MELODY, SCORED SEPARATELY
- Every word is marked read, unsure or missed, using the Hebrew speech model built into your iPhone
- Your sung pitch is compared against the tune the marks call for, note by note
- Sing in whatever key suits your voice. It grades the shape, not the key
- An octave jump costs nothing, which matters for a voice that is changing
- Singing everything on one note scores near zero, because that is not chanting
MORE THAN ONE TRADITION
Ashkenazi and Sephardi, not one house melody. The cantillation marks are already in the text, so a tradition is a table of motifs rather than a library of recordings. That is why more than one ships.

Recording, word recognition and pitch analysis all happen on this device. Nothing is uploaded. There is no account, no email and no server, and it works in airplane mode. Competing tools send a child's voice to a cloud speech service. This one does not have anywhere to send it.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS
This is practice between lessons, not a replacement for your tutor. Traditions vary by community, by congregation and by teacher. If your teacher sings a mark differently from this app, your teacher is right.
