deReader is a private, local-first book reader built for people who want a calm place to read, collect, and return to their books.
It starts with EPUB support, but deReader is not meant to be just an EPUB app. The long-term direction is a full reading engine: one that can grow across book formats, better typography, richer layouts, durable notes, reliable progress, and a library experience that respects the reader.

Your reading life is personal. deReader is built around a local-first reading flow, so your books, progress, bookmarks, highlights, notes, collections, and reading preferences stay on your device in the current version.
• No account required
You can start reading without creating a deReader account. The local reading experience is simple, direct, and under your control.
• Sources for discovering books
deReader includes a Sources area so you can find books from reader-friendly catalogs instead of searching through scattered files.
Browse public-domain and open catalogs such as Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks, view available book details, then add supported editions to your library.
Sources help deReader keep useful metadata connected to each book, including title, author, language, cover, description, source name, and available formats when provided.
