Learn Gujarati: Kids
Trace letters, vowels, numbers
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Every letter, one stroke at a time. The guide fades as your child improves, until they are writing Gujarati from memory. No ads, no data collected, works offline
Learn Gujarati teaches young children to write the Gujarati script — not just recognise it.
Every character is traced stroke by stroke, in the correct order and the correct direction, with a green dot showing where to begin. The app checks the direction your child's finger actually moves, so a letter drawn backwards is corrected on the spot instead of being marked right. That matters: a stroke habit learned wrongly at four is hard to undo at seven.
WHAT YOUR CHILD LEARNS
- The full કક્કો — all 34 letters, including ક્ષ and જ્ઞ
- All 13 સ્વર — the vowels, including અં and અઃ
- Gujarati numbers ૧ to ૧૦
THREE LEVELS FOR EVERY CHARACTER
1. દોરો — trace along a dashed guide, following the arrow
2. જાતે દોરો — the guide fades, and your child fills in more of it themselves
3. યાદથી લખો — a blank writing box, written from memory
The guide disappears as your child improves, so they move from copying to writing without ever noticing the step.
MADE FOR SMALL HANDS
- Big, bright, chunky buttons a four-year-old can actually hit
- Every character spoken aloud in Gujarati by a native voice
- Gentle encouragement — "શાબાશ!" — instead of scores or timers
- Practise any character as many times as you like
- Stars and a reward screen when a section is finished
- The entire interface is in Gujarati
SAFE BY DESIGN
- No ads of any kind
- No in-app purchases and no payment mechanism
- No accounts, no sign-in, no personal details
- No data collected — nothing about your child ever leaves the device
- No chat, no links out, nothing that leads anywhere else
- Works completely offline, with no internet connection needed
There is nothing in this app that can surprise a parent. You can hand a child the phone and walk away.
FOR PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS AND TEACHERS
Whether you are raising children in Gujarat or keeping the language alive far from home, this app gives them the part that is hardest to teach over a video call: the physical habit of forming each letter correctly.
