GAFFER is a football arcade you can pull out anywhere. Eight games, one phone, and a mate to beat. Most of them are built for two players sharing a single screen — you pass it back and forth and argue about the result. Play the Computer instead if nobody's around, or open a private room and play someone on their own phone. THE GAMES Three at the Back — a three-by-three grid. Each side of a square is a club, a country, a decade or a position. Claim a square by naming a footballer who fits both, and take three in a row. Easy, Medium and Hard change how obscure the squares get and how much the Computer knows. Hidden Player — build a rival XI one position at a time. Every pick is a gamble: take the player you can see, or risk the mystery card and hand the known one to your opponent. The match is then simulated, scoreline and scorers included. Transfer Auction — secret bids, position by position. Win the bid and sign the star; lose it and you inherit the mystery. Flick Kick — five free-kicks each, past a keeper who's already picked a corner. Reaction Duel — wait for green. First clean tap wins the point. Jump early and you lose it. Tap War — mash your half of the screen and shove the line into your rival's territory. Echo — a pattern that grows by one every round. Repeat it exactly. One slip ends the run. Sky Dash — keep the ball in the air through gaps that shrink as your score climbs. WHAT'S IN IT Over a thousand footballers, from the 1950s to today, across the clubs and countries you'd expect. Rivalry records are kept between you and whoever you play most, so the grudge carries over. It works offline. Only the private online rooms need a connection — everything else runs with the phone in flight mode. No accounts, no sign-up, nothing to fill in. Open it and play.
