THE CLOCK STARTS WITH THE EGG
Dropping four eggs into the water with a spoon takes an extra 20 seconds. Standard timers forget this. Egglaxy waits for the water to boil, waits for your confirmation that the eggs are actually in, and only then starts counting.
THE PHYSICS OF YOUR KITCHEN
Egg weight, whether it's straight from the fridge or at room temperature, and even your elevation above sea level matter. Water boils at a lower temperature in the mountains, meaning a dense yolk needs more time. This is exact physics, not just another table copied from a food blog.
STEP-BY-STEP, IF YOU NEED IT
Never made a poached egg? The app features a step-by-step guide to help you through the process. Or simply skip it and jump straight to the timer if you’re already a pro. By default, boiled eggs open the timer, poached eggs open the guide—and you can easily customize this to your liking.
AN ALARM THAT MEANS BUSINESS
With alarm permissions, the app will ring until you turn it off—even in silent mode or with the screen locked. Without permissions, you’ll still get a notification 30 seconds before the cooking is done.
CUSTOM TIMERS
Found your perfect 7 minutes? Save it in the right section under your own name—it will sit right next to the built-in presets.
Egglaxy is free and supported by ads. A single one-time purchase removes them forever, and watching a short video gives you a few hours of completely ad-free cooking.
