HockeySense

A game changer for your stats.

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Goals, assists, penalties and plus/minus for your own player, tapped from the stands between shifts. Counted the way a scoresheet counts. Free, and works with no signal. You are standing up in a cold rink with your eyes on the ice, not on the phone. So the buttons are big, every tap answers with its own haptic, and the last one can be undone. Six counters, no menus, nothing to set up once the puck has dropped. WHAT YOU TAP Goals. Assists. Goals for and against while your player was on the ice. Shots. And a plus/minus you can correct by hand when you missed a shift, because a number you cannot correct is a number you stop trusting. The buttons are further apart than they need to be, because a mis-tap in the second period is a wrong number somebody has to go looking for in March. COUNTED THE WAY A SCORESHEET COUNTS Three rules, and all three are deliberate. If your player scored or assisted, they were on the ice for that goal, so one tap counts both. A power-play goal never moves plus/minus, on either side, because that is what the statistic means. And taking a goal back does not take back a power-play goal, because a minus button cannot know whether the goal it is undoing was on the power play, and guessing corrupts the number quietly. Undo does know, and reverses the lot. THE ARITHMETIC, SHOWN Under the running plus/minus it prints the even-strength split, the power-play part and any adjustment you made yourself. "Why does it say plus two" is a question with an answer on screen rather than one you take on faith. PENALTIES Pick the infraction and the minutes fill themselves in, five for a major and ten for a misconduct. Add the period, and the clock time if you caught it. Every penalty is a row rather than a running total, so "which infractions does this kid actually take" is answerable at the end of a season. BOTH YOUR KIDS Two siblings on one team get a line each in the same game, and you switch between them without leaving the screen. The free version tracks up to three players. AFTER THE GAME Every game is listed with its score and its own row of numbers. Any of them can be opened and edited later, box by box, because the one thing a stats app must never do is hold a wrong number hostage. THE SEASON Totals, points over time, and splits by season, opponent, team or home and away. Season numbers count completed games only. Where nobody swept the on-ice columns it prints a dash rather than a zero, because those are two different facts and only one of them is true. YOUR RECORDS, AND A WAY OUT OF THEM Every tap is written to the phone first, so a rink with no signal changes nothing. It syncs through your own iCloud to the family's other devices, with no account to make and nothing of ours in the middle. The whole database exports as one file you can keep, and importing it merges rather than overwrites. HOCKEYSENSE PRO For the parent who ends up keeping the book for the whole bench. Pro lifts the three-player limit and turns the live screen into the roster itself: a row per player, the stat cells as buttons, and a goal with two assists is three taps in three rows. It ranks the squad in a table you can sort by any column, opens the archive permanently, and removes both adverts. Monthly or yearly, both starting with a seven-day free trial, or a one-time purchase if you would rather not rent software. Prices are below, in your own currency. Pro does not hold your numbers back: older games already open free, as often as you like. It removes the video and the clock, not the data. - iPhone and iPad - Works with no connection, no account and no sign-up - Free, with two advertising placements and no banners anywhere: a video you choose to watch to open games older than your most recent one for 24 hours, and an occasional full-screen advert after a completed game is saved - Nothing ever interrupts you while you are tracking a game - Your most recent completed game is always readable, with or without a video Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://www.banse.ca/privacy/

Fixes a problem where the iCloud sync status could report a problem that wasn't there, and makes the upgrade screen more reliable on a fresh install.
