Real narrators read every chapter of all three translations. Press play and pick up where you left off - no account, nothing to set up. Lantern reads the Bible aloud. Open it, press play, and listening begins from exactly where you stopped — chapter after chapter, book after book, for as long as you want to listen. No account. No subscription. No paywall. We do not think anyone should have to pay to read or hear the Bible. LISTEN ANYWHERE Every translation is stored inside the app, so Lantern works with no signal at all — on a plane, on a commute, in a basement. Nothing to download first, nothing to buy. PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF Lantern remembers your place automatically. Close the app mid-verse, come back days later, and it resumes on the same line. A VOICE THAT IS EASY TO LISTEN TO Choose a reading voice and speed, then pick a tone. Soothing slows the pace and lengthens the pauses between verses and clauses, so it sounds like someone reading to you rather than a machine reciting. SLEEP TIMER Set it to stop after a chosen number of minutes, or at the end of the current chapter, and fall asleep to scripture without the app running all night. THREE TRANSLATIONS INCLUDED - King James Version - Bible in Basic English — plain, simple wording - Reina-Valera (1909) — in Spanish, with a Spanish reading voice Switch translation mid-chapter and Lantern keeps your exact place. ALSO INSIDE - The complete Old and New Testaments, all 66 books - A verse of the day - Reading plans that track your progress - Bookmarks and a daily listening streak - Shareable verse images PRIVATE BY DESIGN Lantern has no accounts and no trackers. Your reading position, bookmarks and settings are saved on your device and never sent anywhere. We cannot see what you read or listen to, because we collect nothing. All included translations are in the public domain.
