I was looking for an app where I can track the restaurants I’ve been to as well as those I want to visit. The app does that really well! I love that it doesn’t just focus on restaurants but you can tag and add other spots too! I like that the search feature reads the tags if you want to include additional details like cuisine.Some recommendations for future updates; MUST HAVES:1) Allow to “rename” an entry. Some newer restaurants may not show up but you can still add the address, it would be great if we could rename it instead of seeing the address on the list.2) Add a “City” filter for the Been and Want To Go tabs3) Two level filters. Adding a “tags” or “cuisine” field and filter would also be great! I am using tags to indicate cuisine. Being able to select a city and then a cuisine would be powerful.NICE TO HAVE:4) If possible, pulling automatically the cuisine as a tag would be great!5) Add extra stats like city and country counts - it’s a fun number to know 6) if possible, pulling in the online review rating and price range would be great addition on the Want to Go tabs, also adding these as additional sorting/filter options
Search results now show why a place matched: the dish (with its own rating), a note, a visit, or a tag, so you can see the answer without opening each place.
When you search from your list, you can now tap "Find places near me" to use your location, so search favors places near you. It only asks when you tap it, never at launch.
Adding a place to Been now asks what you ate, right on the same screen.
A tidier first screen: before your first save, the shelf switcher stays out of the way and search is ready to add your first place.
You can also share a screenshot, or a link from Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Yelp, straight into GoodEats: it finds the place and shows you the name and address before anything is saved.
