VoiceToTask: AI Voice Notes
Transcribe, summarize, to-dos
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Your voice. Your AI. Your data.
A voice memo is easy to record and useless to use: it stays an audio file you have to replay in full to find the one thing you promised to do.
VoiceToTask records, transcribes on device and then works out what you said: tasks, deadlines, decisions, key points, questions left open. Every item is anchored to the second of audio where it was said, so one tap plays it back.
NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT YOUR CONFIRMATION
What the AI finds stays a suggestion. It goes through a review screen where you correct, choose and confirm. Only then does a task, a notification or a Reminders entry come into being.
FOUR WAYS OF LISTENING
- Quick note: tasks, deadlines, ideas
- Meeting: decisions taken, who was there, points to know
- Lecture: concepts, definitions, questions
- Interview: questions and answers, themes that emerged
YOU CHOOSE THE ENGINE
On device with Apple Intelligence, on iPhones that have it: nothing to configure and nothing leaving iPhone. Or with your own key at the provider you prefer: your iPhone sends it the transcript text directly.
There is no server of ours in between. Keys stay in the iOS Keychain. We do not see them, do not touch them, they never pass through us.
FIND WHAT YOU SAID
Search across titles, summaries, transcripts, tasks and bookmarks. With Pro and a cloud engine, by meaning too: you find a note without remembering the exact words.
ASK THE RECORDING
With Pro, a question in plain language about what you said. The sentences it quotes back are checked against the transcript: the ones that cannot be found stay text, with no invented timestamps.
ON YOUR DEVICES
With iCloud on, recordings, audio, transcripts and tasks stay in step across your devices. They live in your account's private database: whoever develops the app cannot read them.
TAKE IT OUT
Export as text, Markdown or PDF. Confirmed tasks go to Reminders, if you want.
IN FIVE LANGUAGES
Italian, English, Spanish, French and German. The interface follows the phone, or you pick it in settings. Recordings stay in the language you said them in.
FREE AND PRO
Free: unlimited recordings, on-device transcription, task and deadline extraction, on-device engine or your own key.
Pro: Meeting, Lecture and Interview modes, search by meaning, questions about a recording, PDF export.

more VoiceToTask 2.1.3: clearer when something stops.
• If a recording stops by itself, the Lock Screen keeps saying "Recording interrupted" instead of disappearing.
• Tapping the card of a recording left over after the app closed tells you the audio is safe.
• A transcription or analysis running on your other device is no longer shown as interrupted.
• While you redo an analysis, the previous one stays visible.
• Record from Siri or the Action Button works even with the intro open.
• On a phone set to a language the app doesn't speak, it now opens in English.
• Many other small fixes.
2.1.3 7h ago
VoiceToTask 2.1.2: safer recordings and many fixes.
• If your phone runs out of space or its audio system restarts, the recording stops keeping the audio so far and asks you to save it.
• The app warns you before starting if there isn't enough space.
• Reminders for stalled tasks arrive in the morning again as intended.
• When you leave a recording, your music resumes.
• AI engines with your own keys go back to structured responses when the service allows it again.
• New bottom bar, the native iOS one: glass, and it shrinks as you scroll.
• The task list shows who a task is assigned to and what is in progress or blocked.
• Moving a task's due date also moves its calendar event.
• In the task review, the app asks before throwing away your edits.
• Many other small fixes.
2.1.2 10h ago
VoiceToTask 2.1.1: fixes for multiple devices, the calendar and transcription.
• A recording deleted on another device no longer comes back.
• Calendar: the event is removed even when you complete or delete the task on a device without calendar access.
• Reminders for stalled tasks no longer ring at night.
• Dates said before midnight in a long recording are counted from the right moment.
• OpenAI and Gemini transcription is sturdier: a hiccup on one part no longer throws away the rest.
• Search shows the real time of bookmarks; exports include who a task is assigned to.
• Many other small fixes.
2.1.1 1d ago
VoiceToTask 2.1: recordings that are never lost, sharper dates and better transcription with your own keys.
• If the app quits suddenly while you record, the recording is recovered up to the last seconds.
• Calendar: a task's event moves when you postpone it and goes away when you complete it.
• Transcription with OpenAI and Gemini updated to the latest models, more accurate with dialects and difficult audio.
• Dates: "Fri 3pm", "in 1.5 hours", "in 2 days and 3 hours", "a minute and a half".
• Record from the Lock Screen starts even with another screen open, and the task review is never lost.
• Closing a sheet with unsaved changes now asks first.
• Deadlines ring even with many open tasks, and at the right time after travelling.
• Many fixes: sturdier analysis and fewer wasted paid requests.
2.1 1d ago
VoiceToTask 2.0.7: record with one tap, and the app understands how you really speak.
• New "Record" control: put it on the Lock Screen, in Control Center or on the Action Button and recording starts right away. Press and hold it to choose the mode.
• Better at real speech: self-corrections ("Friday, no wait, Thursday"), dialect, filler words and misheard words.
• Times and days said in words: "tomorrow at eight", "at noon", "half past three", "in half an hour".
• If you use OpenAI or Gemini, they can transcribe for you, which helps with dialects and difficult audio. The app tells you first that the audio goes to that service.
• Long recordings transcribed by Apple's servers no longer stop after the first minute.
• More readable grey text and many fixes.
2.0.7 2d ago
VoiceToTask 2.0.6: fixes and polish.
• "Tonight at 8" and "tomorrow evening at 9" now mean 8 PM and 9 PM, not the morning.
• Swiping the task review away now stops the audio.
• While you record a note, an error from another one still being processed no longer shows up over the recording.
• An interrupted re-transcription keeps the previous transcript without flagging an error.
• The Claude and Gemini model lists are complete.
• Buttons in alerts wrap instead of running off the edge, even with large text.
2.0.6 2d ago
VoiceToTask 2.0.5: done from the notification, and your recording is saved even if you close the app.
• Mark a task as done, or postpone it by a day, right from its notification, without opening the app.
• Ticked a task on Home? You have a few seconds to undo.
• If you close the app while recording, the recording stops there and is saved: transcription and analysis start as soon as you reopen it.
• Recording a note while another is still being processed no longer interrupts it.
• Ideas found in a recording now show up in the Summary.
• Search finds separate words too. Long-press a transcript paragraph to copy or share it.
• Claude, OpenAI and Gemini work with the latest models, and the app says clearly what reaches the service you choose.
2.0.5 3d ago
VoiceToTask 2.0.4: rename, edit, and speak your own language.
• Rename a recording: long-press its title, or its row in Archive.
• Edit a task you already confirmed: title, deadline, priority, owner, notes. Long-press the row.
• Choose the language you speak, even if it differs from your phone's (Settings › Recording and text). If a recording came out in the wrong language, use "Change language" under the transcript.
• Siri and Shortcuts understand VoiceToTask in English, Spanish, French and German too.
• At very large text sizes, dates and tabs no longer break apart.
2.0.4 4d ago
VoiceToTask 2.0.3: better dates, an app that tells you what it's doing, and an interface that reads better.
• "Next Monday" is the coming Monday, not the one after; "at 3" means the afternoon, to confirm.
• Dates are understood better in every language: "October 3rd", "by the 15th", "end of October", "at noon".
• With Reminders on, moving a task also moves its alert.
• After you record, the home screen says it's transcribing and analysing, and tells you if something goes wrong.
• Lock your phone right after stopping and a short note still gets transcribed.
• Search also finds tasks made from a bookmark, shows the matching word in bold and takes you to the right minute.
• "Add to calendar" no longer suggests a time after the deadline.
• The Tasks list follows the calendar week, with "Next week".
• With large text the transcript gets the room it needs, and nothing is cut off in the introduction anymore.
• In dark mode the number of suggestions on the Tasks tab is readable.
2.0.3 5d ago
VoiceToTask 2.0.2: a bug hunt, before you ran into them.
• The main screen also shows tasks with no due date: before, it said there were none.
• Scheduling a task twice no longer creates two identical events, and deleting the task takes its event with it.
• In the transcript, tapping a line always plays the right recording.
• Scrolling the page with your finger on the player bar no longer moves the playback position.
• If the audio is gone, the app says so in all three tabs of a recording.
• While transcribing, the tabs say work is in progress instead of saying nothing came out.
• Leaving a recording during a phone call no longer makes the audio restart by itself afterwards.
• Replaying the intro no longer changes the AI engine you had chosen.
• Swiping a task row twice in a row no longer leaves it stuck halfway.
• Settings: storage no longer reads “0 bytes” while it is being measured, and the count of tasks sent to Reminders tells the truth.
2.0.2 Sep 20
VoiceToTask 2.0.1: a fix for the player.
• In a recording's detail, the player shows how long the audio is next to where you are, for example “00:03 / 00:12”. Before, it only said “00:00”, which looked like the length of the note.
• The time always moves while you listen, even after touching the bar.
• With large text, the count of marked moments wraps instead of being cut off.
2.0.1 Sep 17
VoiceToTask 2.0: the whole interface, reviewed one screen at a time.
• Overdue tasks stand out: on the main screen and in the list the time reads “overdue”, with an exclamation mark.
• Swipe a task to the left to postpone it by a day or put it on your calendar.
• While you record, if the microphone hasn't heard anything for ten seconds the app tells you right away, while there's still time to move the phone closer.
• A recording shows the same number of tasks everywhere — in the Archive, in the summary, on the tab — and proposals waiting for confirmation no longer appear twice.
• In the transcript, the sentences a task came from carry the task's name.
• The Tasks list shows the day even beyond tomorrow, and due dates always include the month.
• Archive filters are easier to read, and each mode has its own icon instead of a coloured dot.
• The Pro banner and the welcome screens show the price you actually pay first, and on the Pro screen “Restore purchases” is always in view.
Plus plenty of polish: an aligned tab bar, large text that no longer breaks lines apart, tidier settings, and notification options that stay off until you allow notifications.
2.0 Sep 16
The recording detail now opens in three views.
• Summary, Tasks, Transcript: what there is to understand, what there is to do, what there is to check. It used to be a single column, and on a half-hour meeting the transcript sat at the very bottom.
• The transcript gets the whole screen, instead of a small window with its own scrollbar inside another one.
• Proposals are confirmed where they are, with Confirm and Discard inside the card and, under the title, the inferred due date together with the phrase it came from.
• Unanswered questions get their own heading, “Left open”; the ones already resolved shrink to a single line you can tap to reopen.
• “Ask this recording” is now a fixed bar at the bottom, reachable from every view.
And two things the app now admits instead of hiding:
• When the microphone didn't pick up, it tells you. That recording used to carry on anyway and end up as an analysis containing things nobody said.
• When there is nothing to extract, it says there is nothing: no more sections repeating “no actions”, “no decisions”.
• Words the recogniser wasn't sure about are flagged to the AI, so a misheard surname doesn't become a person who never existed.
1.9.5 Sep 16
• The recording detail has been redesigned: key points numbered and in order, people with their own card, unanswered questions highlighted.
• Press and hold any item of the analysis — a person, a question, a point, a decision — to delete it. When the AI makes something up, you can now remove it without re-running the analysis.
• From a bookmark you can send someone the thirty seconds that matter, instead of the whole recording.
• Better recognition of names and acronyms: your vocabulary now also helps pick between the versions the recogniser proposes, and it reaches the analysis.
• Questions that arrived in fragments come back whole or disappear, and they carry their timecode.
1.9.4 Sep 15
What Pro gives you, said right.
• The free trial screen listed three things as Pro benefits that the app already gives everyone: it now shows the real ones — Meeting, Lecture and Interview modes, search by meaning with questions about a recording, and PDF export.
• The "from" price in the Pro banner is now the lowest one actually available.
• Fix: the free week is no longer offered to someone who subscribed from another device in the meantime.
• Fix: with the phone locked, analysis stopped with an error code instead of explaining itself.
1.9.3 Sep 14
A more forgiving search, and a few rough edges gone.
• Search in the library now ignores accents: "citta" finds "città", "reunion" finds "reunión".
• The tutorial button gives a light tap at every step.
• Fix: the AI engine key pasted during the tutorial could be lost when reaching the trial screen by swiping.
• Fix: after changing language, dates in exported files stayed in the previous one.
• Fix: under a recording's summary, counts of one were written in the plural.
1.9.2 Sep 14
Seven days to try it, and Pro costs less.
• A free week on the yearly plan: nothing is charged on day one, and you can cancel whenever you want.
• Every plan costs less than before.
• Marked moments are now called bookmarks everywhere: while recording, on the Lock Screen, in search and in exported files.
• Fix: under a recording's summary, counts of one were written in the plural.
1.8 Sep 14
VoiceToTask now speaks Spanish, French and German too.
• Interface, permission prompts and analysis in the three new languages: five in all.
• Tasks, deadlines and summaries come back in the language you spoke, not the app's.
• Dates are understood in all five: "mañana a las diez", "dans deux semaines", "übermorgen", weekdays and months.
• Fix: a month name hidden inside another word no longer creates a wrong deadline.
• Fix: in French, an "à" followed by a number is no longer read as a time.
1.7 Sep 13
The recording timer comes to the Lock Screen.
• While you record, the time shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with buttons to pause, resume and mark a moment without opening the app.
• The record button has a new move: tap it and it implodes, then bursts and throws the four modes out. Tap again and it pulls them back in.
• The Lock Screen card switches itself off if the app is closed while recording, instead of leaving a timer running for nothing.
• The timer stays right on very long recordings, past twenty-four hours.
• The record button's haptics land on time even when you open and close it quickly.
1.6 Sep 12
Fixes for notifications and for anyone using VoiceToTask on more than one device.
• Notifications now appear while the app is open too, including the test notification in Settings. Tapping one takes you to your tasks.
• On an iPad or a second iPhone, deadlines of tasks that arrived through iCloud ring again.
• With Reminders sync turned on, a task no longer creates a duplicate reminder on every device, and completing or deleting it applies everywhere.
• iCloud sync carries every detail of a task: notes, assignee, quote and moment in the audio, and the date of deadlines.
1.5 Sep 11
Fixes, found by going looking for them.
• At large text sizes the row «Fast, Quality, Cost, Privacy, Manual» shrank to five clipped stubs: it now becomes a column of full, readable options.
• Long names no longer break in the middle of a word, and the line at the top of Pro is no longer cut short.
• The Manual preset promised to ask which engine to use for every recording. It never did: it uses the one you pick, and that is now what it says.
• On an iPhone set to English, one button in the tutorial was still in Italian.
• Opening Pro at launch could read «purchases are not available» for a moment while the app was still asking the App Store.
The screenshots above are new as well: the phone sits at the same height in all seven.
1.4 Sep 11
A new icon.
• Three voice bars rising into a checkmark: what you said, done. The same terracotta as the Record button, with the dark and tinted variants for those who use them.
Fixes
• Citations in "Ask this recording" no longer show "00:00" with a play button when the transcript carries no timings: the sentence stays, which is what the app can prove.
• Fixed the sample data shown on first launch.
1.3 Sep 10
The first launch now asks the question that matters.
• A new step in the intro: choose who turns your words into tasks — Apple Intelligence on your phone (free, nothing leaves the iPhone), the cloud with your own key, or decide each time. Pick the cloud and the link to create the key is right there.
• The model list is no longer a hundred entries long: the current ones stay, plus one or two older but good, and the rest sits under "Show all".
• If you don't pick a model you now get a current one: the app used to pin one from two generations ago.
Fixes
• Large text no longer spills out: the Record circle label, the mode pills, the bottom bar and the "Never leaves this iPhone" panel all stay inside at the largest sizes.
• Archive rows no longer break words in half, and are slightly larger.
• Analysis items no longer show "00:00" when the moment is unknown: if the sentence is found in the transcript the app takes the time from there, otherwise it shows no time at all.
• The transcript no longer cuts through the middle of a line at the top and bottom.
• Gemini keys starting with "AQ." are accepted.
1.2 Sep 10
A full visual restyling: the app has been redrawn top to bottom.
• New colours: cream background, terracotta for recording, sage green for what you've confirmed, and a tint of its own for each of the four modes.
• New typefaces and fewer boxes: more air between things, headings you can read from across the room.
• The Home screen is the Record button: one big circle in the middle, and Quick note, Lecture, Meeting and Interview bloom around it.
• Dark theme, in a warm brown instead of grey. Pick Auto, Light or Dark in Settings.
• Full-screen recording, tinted with the mode you're using, a big timer, and Pause, Stop and Mark where your thumb lands.
• Archive and Tasks rebuilt, with the four mode filters always in view and sections by due date.
• New player on the detail screen: drag to move through the audio, with green marks on the moments you flagged.
• Glass tab bar, letting what scrolls underneath show through.
• New icon, matching the rest.
Fixes
• Changing the language now takes effect right away, not on the second try.
• The plans screen no longer says "prices unavailable" while it is still loading them.
• Search says it is searching, instead of saying "no results" straight away.
• A rejected AI key is no longer deleted when the problem was the network.
• The new Gemini keys, the ones starting with "AQ.", are accepted: the Save button used to stay off.
• The engine picker now says when a paid engine is being held back, instead of looking like the choice does nothing.
• Fixed the profile counts, task due dates, and other details.
1.1 Sep 8
VoiceToTask 2.1.3: clearer when something stops.
