Six cameras, six film stocks, and tactile effects. From double exposure and fisheye to instant prints and photo-booth strips. Grainroom is a vintage camera app for iPhone that gives every shot the character of analog film, early digital cameras, and imperfect prints. Choose the camera that fits the moment: • ARGENTA 35 - classic 35mm color and grain with six original film-inspired stocks • Z330 - early-2000s CCD digicam crunch, hard flash, and a burned-in date • V8 FLIP - lo-fi 0.3-megapixel VGA nostalgia • INSTANT 600 - soft color inside framed instant prints • FLASH - disposable-camera flares, leaks, and surprises • FOTOAUTOMAT - four-frame black-and-white photo booth strips Make each camera your own with tactile photo filters and effects: double exposure, fisheye, prism, dream glow, infrared, cyanotype, sprocket borders, VHS, newsprint, and more. Stack compatible effects and tune their controls until the look feels right. The live viewfinder previews supported looks before you press the shutter. Every developed picture keeps its original capture behind it, so you can return to your Grainroom library and develop it again with a different camera, film stock, or effect. Six vintage cameras. Six film stocks. A pocket darkroom for photographs that feel less perfect and more alive.

Reminds me of fun times

I remember the feeling of taking pictures with friends and then having to wait to get them and see how they actually came out. Now we re-take and get the perfect picture and live less in the moment. This app is fun because despite you seeing it you get the feel of old cameras and their limitations which can help me be more creative and leave that feeling of a “perfect” pic. I hope the dev can continue to expand the cameras available and hopefully more accurate for photography nerds like me!

More ways to get the shot. • Set a 3 or 10 second self-timer, with a countdown and optional timer lamp. • Take photos with your iPhone's volume buttons on supported devices. • Add Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets to open Grainroom or jump straight into your favorite camera. • Keep all six cameras within reach with the Camera Shelf widget. • Add Open Grainroom and Open Camera controls to Control Center or your Lock Screen on iOS 18 and later.
