Daily verse and a quiet pause

iPhone
A private place for a daily verse, your own words and a breath before the apps you reach for. Free, with no account, no ads and no tracking.
Ofam means only for a moment. Whatever you are facing today, it is only for a moment, and God is not.
Ofam Journal is a quiet, private place on your iPhone for a verse, your own words and a little hope. It is free. There is no account, no ads and no tracking, and your journal stays on your iPhone.
Today
Each day begins with a verse, in the NIV by default, with the World English Bible always there offline. Tap the verse to read the whole chapter. Below it, one line asks what is on your heart.
Your journal
Write, or just speak. Your voice becomes text on your iPhone, with Apple's on-device speech recognition and, once they download on Wi-Fi, two speech models that run on the device. Nothing you say is sent to us.
After each page
When you finish a page, Ofam answers with one kind sentence and a verse for what you wrote. Where your iPhone has Apple's on-device model, it writes the sentence. On other iPhones, Ofam's own built-in words do. If a page sounds like you may be in danger, Ofam shows a crisis line for where you are.
Your garden
Each day you write, a flower comes up. Over the weeks it becomes a meadow, your own quiet record of the days you came. There is nothing to keep up. Miss a day and nothing wilts.
Seasons and search
Ofam notices the threads through your days, like weeks of waiting or days with someone you love, and gathers them into seasons. Search finds pages by what they mean, not only by the exact words. All of it is worked out on your iPhone by a small model inside the app.
The Pause
Choose the apps you reach for without thinking. When you open one, a quiet page comes first: a breath, a verse, then the app. The Pause uses Apple's Screen Time, and Ofam never sees which apps you chose or how you use them.
Wall of hope
Send a few kind words to a stranger somewhere in the world, and a note comes back to you. Notes carry only their words and a country, never your name. Every note is checked before it travels, and you can report any note you receive or stop seeing notes from its sender. Once a day a note of hope arrives for you, even if you never write one.
And a few small things
Translate a note into your own language, on your iPhone. Lock your journal with Face ID. Export your journal whenever you like, or erase it from Settings.
Your privacy
Your entries, your voice, your reflections and your seasons stay on your iPhone. Only a few things use the internet: today's note of hope, a note you choose to send or report, licensed Bible translations read through YouVersion, and a one-time download of the speech models on Wi-Fi, about 1.1 GB. Ofam is a ministry. The app is free for everyone and kept free by the people who wear the message.
