Magicdoku is a cozy pet logic puzzle built around a solver that reasons the way a person does — and tells you what it worked out, in words.
A HINT THAT TEACHES
Most puzzle games sell a hint that fills in a square for you. Magicdoku's solver reports which deduction actually fires, out of 11 named techniques, and says it in words: "only one cell left in this ward", "every remaining candidate of this ward sits in row 3, so row 3 belongs to it". The hint lights up the ward, row or column the next move lives in and dims what it rules out. Finding the cell inside is still your move.
Want the answer instead? Reveal is a separate tool: the wand flies down, knocks twice, and seats a correct pet for you.
YOUR TECHNIQUES
Because the solver knows which deduction each move needed, the game can tell you something about yourself: which techniques you lean on for help, and which difficulty tiers you have cleared with no help at all. Practice boards for any tier are unlimited and score nothing — they count only towards that page.
IT PROVES WHY A MOVE FAILS
Seat a pet somewhere the four rules allow but the board cannot survive, and instead of a bare refusal you are told what it strands: a colour that runs out of room, a colour that loses the only line it fits in, or two colours left needing the same line.
NEVER UNWINNABLE
A placement that conflicts with a seated pet, or that is legal but not part of the one true solution, is refused rather than accepted. You cannot paint yourself into a corner twenty moves ago and only find out now.
THE RULES: the whole game in four lines
• One pet per row
• One pet per column
• One pet per coloured ward
• No two pets ever touch, not even diagonally
That is all of it. Every board has exactly one solution, and every solution can be reached by pure deduction. You never have to guess.
300 HANDCRAFTED LEVELS, THEN ENDLESS
A difficulty ramp from a 4x4 tutorial to 10x10 hard, then an endless tail. Every eighteen levels opens a new room of a witch's cottage: living room, kitchen, library, bedroom, bathroom, sunroom, each with its own backdrop and music. Boards are seeded from the level number, so the same level is the same puzzle on every device.
SEND SOMEONE YOUR ROUTE
Finished a board? Copy the order you filled it in and send it to a friend. Their device rebuilds the same board from scratch and plays your route back on it. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.
PLAY WITH THE PETS YOU LIKE
33 pets, all of which blink. Pick a loadout of one to four and the board deals them across its wards. The counter tracks each pet separately, so you can always see which one you are still looking for.

THE COTTAGE DRESSES FOR HALLOWEEN
From September 26 to November 2 each year the porch is decorated for the night: a crescent moon over the garden wall, bunting and two lit lanterns, and pumpkins at the foot of the gate. All six rooms of the cottage are repainted for it, and the level map takes the same colours.
THE AIR MOVES
Bats cross the room while you think, embers drift up from the candlelight, and mist gathers along the floor.
DECORATION ONLY
No rule, no level and no reward changes. On November 3 the cottage is exactly as you left it.
