Puck Around

Neon air hockey on one screen

Free

The device is the table: lay it flat, grab an end each, and play. Tournaments for game night, three arcade cabinets for the quiet moments. Puck Around is air hockey with no table to find — the device is the table. Lay a phone or an iPad flat, grab an end each, and play: mallets under your thumbs, a white-hot puck between you, first to seven. No accounts, no matchmaking, no second screen — the people in the room are the whole game. FORMATS FOR WHOEVER'S AROUND Singles head-to-head, doubles with a lane each, or an uneven one against two — the goal widens for the better-staffed side. Grab your mallet to ready up; the force field bursts and the puck is live. PUCKS WITH CHARACTER Round, square, or triangular — shaped pucks tumble, catch the boards, and spin off at angles the round one never would. Fly up to three at once, make the side walls wrap like portals, or leave it to the "?" and find out at the faceoff. TOURNAMENT NIGHT Winner stays, knockout brackets for up to 32, or a league season with real tie-breakers. Names are remembered as one-tap chips — no profiles, no stats — and every player wears their own neon: mallet, goal, and score in their color. PRACTICE, AND AN ARCADE IN THE CORNER A machine mallet on a fixed sweep defends the far goal — a drill target that never aims, but its deflections count. Then three solo cabinets on the same physics: a bumper field, a brick wall that racks back harder every time you break through, and a survival table that never stops feeding pucks. Ten-line hiscore boards, signed with one tap. NOTHING LEAVES THE DEVICE No server, no accounts, no analytics, no ads — the app makes no network connections at all. Scores and remembered names live on the device and nowhere else. Sound and haptics come off the game's own physics, the look is a neon cabinet, and the table fills the screen whichever way you hold it. Built openly with AI assistance — much of the code. The design, decisions, and care are human. Open source under the MIT licence. Free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no tracking. Just air hockey.
