Tell who is speaking. Awnsy now marks each speaker in a conversation with a colored dot. It needs a one-time download of about 200 MB and can be turned off in Settings › Models. A new speech model. Speech is now recognized by Nemotron by default. Whisper is still there in Settings › Models and knows more languages. Also in this version: • Claude Haiku 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 • Better recognition when speakers switch languages

Translations keep the shape of the page. Copy part of a web page or a document, and the translation comes back laid out the same way: headings, lists with their bullets and numbers, quotes, tables, code. It still appears as it is translated. If the model's answer no longer lines up with the original, Awnsy shows it as plain text. Translate a picture from the clipboard. Take a screenshot to the clipboard or copy an image, then use the same shortcut you use for text. Awnsy reads the text in the picture on your Mac and translates it. Choose how translations look. Settings › Popup now has a font, a text size, line spacing, and a limit on line length for a wide popup. ⌘+ and ⌘− change the size right in the popup. Also in this version: • Awnsy can open when you log in: Settings › General • Translations are set a little larger by default

Translate speech as it is spoken. Press ⌥⌘R, or click the microphone button in any translation popup, and Awnsy listens, shows what it hears and translates it sentence by sentence. Speech is recognized on this Mac by the Whisper model, and the audio never leaves it. The speech model downloads once, about 650 MB. Translate Speech is part of Awnsy Pro, with ten sessions free. See which languages each on-device model handles. Each on-device model now shows how many languages it translates into, measured on real translations. The language menus mark a language the active model translates with errors, and no longer offer one it cannot write. Kazakh joins the language list. Also in this version: • Claude Opus 5.5 replaces Claude Opus 5, and Claude models start answering sooner • Screen area translation works better with several displays and full-screen apps • The popup opens as soon as you finish selecting a screen area

Reading text off the screen now tells you when it could not. When the area you drag out holds nothing Awnsy can read, or the Mac refuses the capture, the popup now says so and points at the way that works, and the free run is not spent. Everything else about screen translation is as it was. Also in this version: • The first menu item is named for what it does: Translate Clipboard • The Models tab in Settings has an icon of its own

Awnsy now speaks your language. The interface comes in Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Georgian, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish and Polish. It follows the language your Mac is set to, and Settings › General can pick another. The language you translate into is a separate choice and stays as you left it. Two new on-device models. Hy-MT2, a compact translation model from Tencent, runs entirely on your Mac like the others: a 1 GB download, about twice as fast as TranslateGemma, and now the first choice on a fresh install when it covers your language. Qwen3.5 follows your custom translation prompt. TranslateGemma is still there underneath, and Settings › Models switches between all three in a click. Also in this version: • The model menu in the popup groups on-device and cloud models • Qwen3.5 caches your prompt, so translations start sooner

Awnsy now shows you around. Awnsy lives in the menu bar, with no window and no Dock icon, so the first launch now opens a short three-step welcome. It points out where Awnsy sits, has you translate a real sentence by pressing ⌘C twice, and explains how to read text off part of the screen before you need it. The on-device model starts downloading while you read, so your first translation does not wait on it. The welcome is in the menu too, whenever you want it again. Awnsy now translates into your language. The target language starts out as the one your Mac is set to. If you have already picked a language, it stays as you left it, and Settings can change it at any time. Also in this version: • Awnsy Pro is one click away in the menu • Pausing the model download now says so in the popup that was waiting for it

Translate offline. A downloaded on-device model now works with no internet at all. Awnsy no longer contacts the server before your first translation, so a plane, a train, or a network that has quietly died makes no difference. A new look while a model downloads. The popup now fills with colour as the model lands, with the percentage large in the middle — you can tell at a glance that it is moving. The size, speed and time left are still there underneath. It is a 2.2 GB download, so that matters. Also in this version: • The glowing border no longer flickers while you resize the window • The popup opens a little taller, leaving room to show the download
