Live flight tracking on a satellite map, with weather radar and tropical cyclones, built for the living room. Flight tracking belongs on the big screen. FlighTV was created by two friends and coworkers who spend a lot of time flying for work. We wanted an easy way for our wives and kids to see where we were, when we were landing, and whether our flights were delayed—without having to keep reaching for a phone. Then the algorithms found us. We started getting ads for standalone flight-tracking displays: dedicated little screens designed to sit on a desk or countertop and show airplanes moving across a map. We almost bought them. Then we had a thought: why buy another screen when there’s already a much better one hanging on the wall? So we built FlighTV for Apple TV. We’re also big fans of the great flight-tracking apps already available on iPhone. But when we went looking for something that brought that same kind of experience to Apple TV, we couldn’t find anything we were happy with. FlighTV is our answer. Add the flights you care about and watch them progress across a satellite map of the world from departure to arrival. Leave it running while you’re making dinner, spending time with the family, or waiting for someone to get home. TRACK YOUR FLIGHTS Add a flight by airline, flight number and date. FlighTV automatically keeps track of schedules, gates, delays, estimated arrival times and flight status. WATCH THE AIRCRAFT MOVE Once a flight is airborne, follow its aircraft in near real time, with the path already flown and the remaining route displayed on the map. SEE THE WEATHER Overlay global precipitation data to get a big-picture view of the weather along the route. FOLLOW TROPICAL CYCLONES See active tropical systems around the world, including historical tracks and forecast paths. EXPLORE THE WORLD Switch to Explore Mode and roam the globe. Zoom into an airport to watch nearby traffic or pull back to see aircraft, weather and the day/night line across the planet. TRACK NOTABLE AIRCRAFT • Follow special-mission aircraft when they are flying: NOAA's hurricane hunters, the Airbus Beluga XL fleet, the Boeing Dreamlifter, NASA's Super Guppy and X-59 IMPORT TRIPS FROM TRIPIT Connect your private TripIt calendar and let upcoming flights appear automatically. BUILT FOR THE LIVING ROOM FlighTV isn’t an iPhone app stretched onto a television. It was designed from the beginning for Apple TV, the Siri Remote and a screen everyone in the room can see. No FlighTV account is required, and your saved flights stay on your Apple TV. Whether you’re the one in the air or the one waiting at home, FlighTV puts the flights that matter to you where everyone can see them. SUBSCRIPTION The free version tracks 5 flights. A FlighTV subscription ($1.99 per month or $14.99 per year, auto-renewing) unlocks unlimited flights in My Flights with live aircraft tracking, schedules and delays, weather radar, tropical cyclones, notable aircraft and TripIt import. Payment is charged to your Apple Account; the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and can be managed in your Apple Account settings.
