Light or dark, your choice: in Settings, under Appearance, keep Mishkah light, keep it dark, or let it follow your phone. Four themes: Mishkah's own navy and gold; Easy Read, dark text on white, the easiest to read; Emerald; and Sand. Every text colour is chosen to read clearly and rest the eyes.

Listen to the Quran: fifteen reciters, among them Mishary Alafasy, Abdul Basit, al-Husary and al-Sudais. Hear each before you choose, the first time you press play or any time in Settings. The mushaf, read aloud: the play button on the reader's bar recites from your place, marks each ayah as it is read and turns the pages for you, with the screen locked too. Today's ayah and the adhkar that are whole ayat have a Listen button. New widgets: prayer cards you tap to turn, a tracker to tick off each prayer, your khatma's portion with a Mark read button, a dhikr that changes when you tap it, the next sunnah fast, the qibla, and a new large Prayer Times widget. In Control Center: the qibla, today's wird and the adhkar.

A new Qibla: the whole screen is the compass. It tells you which way to turn and how far, and lights up when you face the Kaaba. In the camera view a 3D Kaaba stands in the qibla's direction over what is in front of you; holding the phone flat, follow the light on the floor. Nothing is recorded. Search the ayat: type words from any ayah in the Quran tab, the way you usually write them, or a reference such as 2:255. Tafsir in the mushaf: al-Mukhtasar's explanation of every ayah on the page, in Arabic or English, from the book on the reader's bar.

Reminders: a short screen, shown once, to turn on the ones you want: prayer times with a sound, the adhkar windows, fasting, the ayah of the day and your khatma. Change them any time in Settings. When your location changes, a green banner names the new city, so you know the prayer times have moved with you.

Khatma: choose how many days to read the whole mushaf in. Mishkah gives you the day's pages, follows your reading as you turn them, and reminds you. In the Quran tab. Fasting reminders, the evening before Mondays and Thursdays, the white days, Arafah and Ashura: whichever you choose, in Settings. Midnight, the middle of the night between Maghrib and Fajr, now shows under the prayer times on Today. In Cards, a dua that sits in several collections now comes round once, and Jumu'ah opens with three salawat instead of eight wordings of one. Every wording is still in its collection. The tasbih counts in the app's own digits, and its ring starts at the top in Arabic.

Prayer reminders now come with a sound. The adhkar windows, the hourly dhikr and the ayah of the day stay quiet. Hajj & Umrah, in Adhkar > Library: two works by Shaykh Ibn Baz, exactly as IslamHouse.com publishes them, one with IslamHouse's English under every paragraph, beside the Hajj & Umrah supplications. Mishkah on iPad, in any orientation, with Today in two columns where there is room and the adhkar held to a comfortable reading width. The prayer widgets now follow you when you travel: if Mishkah may use your location, they check where you are as they refresh and show that place's times, without your opening the app. Choose one style for all your widgets in Settings > Widget Style. In Cards, tap the collection's name on a card to go through its cards in order, with a list of every dhikr in it. A new feeling, Studying or a hard task, with eight duas and adhkar. In Arabic with the translation off, the adhkar lists now show how many times each dhikr is repeated.

Prayer widgets, corrected. Between Fajr and sunrise the next prayer is Dhuhr, with the time Fajr ends shown beneath it. After Isha, tomorrow's Fajr is highlighted with its countdown. A countdown no longer stops at zero, and a widget no longer keeps Makkah's times after the phone restarts. Three new widgets: Prayer Day, your day between the prayers; The Night, when its last third and its middle begin; and Today's Adhkar, which of the day's adhkar you have said. Isha in Ramadan: on the Umm al-Qura method, Isha is two hours after Maghrib during Ramadan. A correction in the evening adhkar: one dhikr appeared in its morning wording.

Widgets. Prayer times on your home screen and lock screen, with the next prayer counting down, in four looks you can choose from. Reminders that land where they are about. Tap the morning or evening adhkar reminder and the session opens at that dhikr; tap the day's ayah and it opens with its lesson. You can also choose how often the short dhikr arrives. Mark where you stopped. Press and hold any line of the mushaf and that ayah is highlighted, all the way through however many lines it runs across; the Qur'an tab then opens straight back to it. Press again to clear it. Walk the daily ayah. Arrows at each end of the card step through the whole rotation, not just today's. Fixes: a card is now shared in the same light or dark look you are reading it in, and named in your own language; the mushaf's close button no longer hides on smaller screens; morning adhkar no longer appear in the evening list; the app follows your iPhone's language properly; and every screen holds together at the largest text sizes.
