Find out where to go mushroom hunting — before you enter the forest.
Mushroom Hunter helps you discover promising areas for the mushroom you want to find. The app combines local weather conditions with species-specific growing requirements and mapped forest areas.
WHERE SHOULD YOU GO?
Choose a supported mushroom and select how far you are willing to travel.
Mushroom Hunter checks current conditions for that species, including season, recent rainfall, temperature, humidity and suitable forest type.
FIND PROMISING FORESTS
The app checks mapped forest areas within your selected radius and highlights locations where conditions are currently more favorable.
Compare condition scores, explore suitable areas on the map and open a selected location directly in Google Maps for navigation.
KNOW WHEN TO GO
Check local weather and forecasts before heading into the forest. See how current conditions compare with the requirements of the mushroom you are looking for.
EXPLORE THE ENCYCLOPEDIA
Learn about mushroom species, their appearance, habitat and other useful characteristics.
AI-ASSISTED IDENTIFICATION
Take photos of a mushroom and receive an AI-assisted identification suggestion with useful information about the possible match.
KEEP YOUR MUSHROOM JOURNAL
Save your discoveries and build a personal history of your mushroom adventures.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Mushroom locations, condition scores and AI identification are indicative only. Mushroom Hunter does not guarantee that mushrooms will be present at a suggested location.
AI identification can make mistakes. Never consume a wild mushroom based solely on an identification, photograph, score or information provided by the app. When in doubt, consult a qualified local mushroom expert.
