Sharda Panchang
Kundli, Tithi & Festivals
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Nakshatra and Panchak now shown throughout the app, a corrected Janmashtami date, and a fixed time-zone display bug in festival explanations.
Sharda Panchang is a dedicated Kashmiri/Hindu lunar calendar (Panchang) app for tracking tithis, festivals, and important dates — accurate, fast, and built around how families actually use a panchang.
CALENDAR See any month at a glance in a grid or list view, with each day showing its tithi, lunar month, and moon phase. Tap any day for full details: sunrise, sunset, tithi transition times, and any saved dates or festivals — all shown in your city's correct local time.
Choose Purnimant or Amant for the lunar month system, and First Ray or Center Disc for the sunrise basis used to determine each day's tithi — both apply consistently across the whole app, and a saved date always remembers the basis it was created with.
Print or share a branded calendar PDF: a single month, a full year, or a complete Samvat (lunar year, Navreh to Navreh) — as a day-by-day list or the classic calendar grid, with festivals and your saved dates included if you choose.
Share a read-only link to exactly the view you're looking at — month, city, Home/Away, month system, sunrise basis, and grid or list — so a family member sees precisely what you shared without it changing anything on their own device.
TITHI TRACKING (BIRTHDAYS & IMPORTANT DATES) Save a birthday or anniversary by date of birth or directly by tithi, and see when it falls each year going forward — the true purpose of a panchang for most families. Get reminders ahead of the date, in your chosen city's local time.
Export your saved dates — with or without birth details — or share a subset with a link or QR code, so you can send just the birthdays relevant to one side of the family without exposing everyone else's dates.
KUNDLI (BIRTH CHARTS) Any saved date with a birth time becomes a full birth chart: a traditional North Indian chart for all sixteen divisions (D1 to D60), each labelled with the life area it is read for. Tap the Lagna or any Graha for its longitude, Nakshatra, Nakshatra lord, motion, and state — exalted, Moolatrikona, own sign, debilitated, or combust.
Yogas lists the named combinations present in a chart, grouped by whether they help or harm and each showing the placement that caused it. Ashtakavarga gives bindu counts for all twelve signs and for each Graha.
KUNDLI MATCHING Compare any two saved charts on the classical 36-point Ashtakoot (Guna Milan) scale, with every factor explained. It also shows what the 36 points leave out — Kuja (Mangal) Dosha per chart, plus the Rajju, Vedha, Mahendra and Stree Deergha checks — because a total alone is a partial reading. Where traditions disagree the app says so, and it attaches no pass/fail verdict to the score.
FESTIVALS A comprehensive festival calendar computed the same accurate way as everything else in the app — including recurring monthly observances (Ekadashi, Ashtami, Purnima, Amavasya, and more) with sensible defaults so your festival list isn't cluttered unless you want it to be. Solar and lunar eclipses appear in the same list, with type and timing.
HOME & AWAY CITIES Set a second "Away" city and flip the whole app between Home and Away — useful if you're tracking a panchang for family in a different city or time zone. Reminders and saved-date timing account for both.
COMPARE PANCHANG See the days across a chosen year where two cities' tithi differs, side by side, with Adhika (leap-month) days called out — useful when coordinating an observance across cities.
ACCURATE, PRIVATE, AND YOURS Every calculation — tithi, sunrise/sunset, lunar month, and festival dates — is computed from precise astronomical formulas, accurate well beyond what any panchang decision needs. Your saved dates stay on your device — nothing is uploaded anywhere unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.
Whether you're following a family tradition, tracking festival dates, or just want to know the tithi for today, Sharda Panchang is built to be fast, accurate, and genuinely useful every day.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Nakshatra is now shown alongside the tithi — in the Daily Tithi Info panel, on the Calendar, and in both PDF exports. The day's nakshatra is named plainly, and any change during the day is listed with its exact time.
Panchak — the five-day window when the Moon crosses the last stretch of the zodiac — is now marked on the Calendar and in both PDF exports, with its exact start and end shown in the day detail.
Fixed: the Smarta Janmashtami date is now computed from the classical rule rather than an approximation of it. This corrects 2021 from 29 to 30 August, matching every published source, and fixes a display bug where the shown Ashtami time window was sometimes wrong on years the observance shifts to the previous day.
Fixed: the expanded explanation under a festival was showing times in UTC instead of your local time zone — for example, an event actually at 1:56 PM could read as 8:56 PM. It now matches the time shown right above it.
Export → Share import link / QR now has a "with date of birth" option alongside "no date of birth," so a recipient can get an entry they can recompute for any year. Sharing a very large group of entries now shows a clear message instead of producing a link that silently fails to open.
