Your day, handed back when you need it Morning brief - Once a day, when you're back at your Mac, a notification with your last workday: what it came to, where you left off, and what's next. - Copy the standup straight from the notification, or open the brief to reopen the pull requests you had open and check any activities that need a look. A note after each call - When a call of 5 minutes or more ends, reply to the notification with what was decided. It goes under Meetings in the day's standup and is copied with it. - Hindsight still never records audio. Calls are named after your calendar event when calendar context is on. Evening wrap-up - Shortly before you usually stop, reply with what to pick up tomorrow. It becomes a Next item and opens tomorrow's brief. - Your usual stop is learned from your last two weeks. Nothing to set up. Teach once - Move an activity to a project or change its category, and Hindsight offers the rule that would have got it right: the folder or repository its windows showed, or its app. Add it, and the next one is right on its own. - A category rule you write now outranks the AI's reading of the screen. A checklist for your first week - Today shows the setup steps that turn on project time, Done lines from your pull requests, named meetings and the notifications above. Timesheets and weekly exports - Hours per project per day, as a PDF to send or a CSV to sum, from Daily, Weekly Review and Export Data. - Export a weekly review as a PDF, or every activity of the week as a CSV. Reviews saved earlier export too. Your other displays, as context - With more than one display, turn on Settings > General > Recording > Capture other displays. The displays you aren't working on are captured about once a minute, so a call or a log beside your work shows up in its summary. - The display you work on is still the only one that's timed. Excluded apps, private windows and notifications are left out of the image, and faces in calls are blurred. It is off by default. More privacy while you sign in - Hindsight no longer takes a screenshot while a password field is focused in your browser, such as Safari, Chrome, Brave, Arc, Edge or Firefox. The time still counts toward what you were doing. All three notifications can be turned off in Settings > General > Notifications.

Your day at a glance, and a smarter engine for where your time went Daily, in place of Journal - A new Daily screen shows each day by project: every activity is a bar at the exact time it happened, colored by its category, with brief switches marked inside it and time away shaded. Click a bar to open the activity. - See where the time went by project and category, your longest stretch of focus, how often you switched, and your daily goals. - Each day gets a standup, ready to paste into Slack: what you got done, grouped by project with the time it took and the pull requests you worked on. A check mark means your screen showed it finished, like a merged pull request or passing checks. Personal errands are left out. - Edit, reorder, add or delete any line, and tick off what's next. Anything left unticked carries over to the next day. - The journal, its templates and its Settings tab are gone. Journals you saved stay on your Mac and can still be exported. Review in one place - Review on Today opens every activity that needs a look, with the reason it was flagged. Confirm, edit, ignore or retry each one, or confirm them all at once. Projects you choose - Time goes to a project only when the screen proves it: one of its repositories, a file in one of its folders, or a window title with its name. Your organization, cloud accounts and chat channels no longer show up as projects. - Hindsight suggests projects from what it has seen, with their repositories and folders filled in. Add the ones you want and ignore the rest. Adding a project moves your recent activities that show it. - Edit a project's other names, repositories and folders on the Projects screen. More accurate activities - Brief switches list only real switches to something else, such as chat during coding. Terminal and browser work on the same task stays part of the activity. - Window titles now come from macOS instead of being read off the screenshot, and private browsing windows are never recorded. - When an app has several windows open, Hindsight captures the one you are using. - Calls count even when another window is in front, a call you only listen to is no longer marked idle, and a Zoom recording playing in your browser is not counted as a call. - App icons come from the app you actually used. Better titles and summaries - Titles say what you did in plain words, based on the time you actually spent in each window. - Each activity lists its steps, with their times. - Titles no longer claim a fix or a merge the screen did not show, and back-to-back activities on one task say what each part did. Sync to iCloud - Turn on Sync to iCloud in Settings > General to keep the text of your activities, projects and standups in your own private iCloud, end-to-end encrypted. Screenshots and screen text stay on your Mac. It is off by default. Recording you control, lighter on your Mac - Choose the resolution of saved screenshots and how often one is taken, and see how much disk an hour of tracking actually takes, in Settings > General. - Fewer AI calls: a window Hindsight just described is not described again. - Screenshots take about a fifth of the space, unchanged screens are no longer saved, and old screenshots are cleared once a day. - Settings is simpler, with one card per topic.

Projects and goals - Projects: a new screen shows the time you spent on each project today, this week, this month or over the last 90 days, with its share of your tracked time, top apps and activities. Rename, merge or remove a project everywhere at once, move activities between projects, and export the report as CSV. Hindsight suggests your existing project names when you edit an activity. - Daily goals and limits: set a daily goal (at least) or limit (at most) for any category in Settings. Progress shows on Today and in the menu bar, and Hindsight notifies you once a day when you reach a goal or go over a limit. Idle time never counts. - Calendar context (optional): turn it on in the General section of Settings, and meetings are named after your calendar events instead of the app you used. Declined, canceled and all-day events are ignored. Fixes - When automatic tracking can't start, Settings and the menu bar now say why, instead of asking for Screen Recording permission you already granted. - More accurate timelines: no gaps while you read an unchanging screen, work longer than your Brief detour setting becomes its own activity, distractions show what actually interrupted you, and projects keep one name.

Journals and weekly reviews you can trust • Daily journals now rank your work by the time you actually spent on it, with the duration, share of the day, and time range for every task. • Weekly reviews now show what you worked on. Related tasks across the week are grouped into one piece of work, with its total time. • Every duration, total, and percentage is calculated from your timeline. The AI writes the descriptions, never the numbers. • If the AI model isn't available, Hindsight shows a clearly labeled breakdown computed from your activity log instead of saving a lower-quality journal, and automatic journals try again later. • Automatic journals now wait a few minutes after your Mac wakes, so they're written once the network is back. More accurate activities • A brief interruption at the end of a long task no longer renames it. An activity's title and category now come from the work that took the most time, and Activity details show a time breakdown of every stretch it covers. • Better separation of personal errands from work tasks. • Screen descriptions from your own AI provider are no longer cut short. • Files & Links now show clean, top-level entries — repositories and sites — without login pages, boilerplate files, or misread duplicates. • Frames whose screenshots have been deleted no longer show an unrelated image. Always know what the AI wrote • Anything not written by the AI — keyword guesses, idle detection, or your own edits — is labeled wherever it appears. • Ask AI now answers with Apple Intelligence (or your own AI provider) from measured totals, and clearly marks any answer computed without a model. • Journals and reviews saved by an earlier version's fallback are flagged, with one-click Regenerate. Fixes • Weekly review and Ask AI totals no longer count time across sleep or idle gaps. • Editing an activity no longer loses its link to the captured frames.
