I got this with hardly any experience when my tennis group started playing mahjong on fridays😭 I was skeptical at first especially when my first game i was totally lost. The cards and tiles were so fonfusing i thought id never pick up it. Then when i saw a video about this app i thought id try it out. And things started to click right away!! The sessions were actually fun too and i got kind of addicted to it but soon i coild spot hands and figure out which tiles to keep without asking for help. soon after i started winning a few games and now i win fairly often. Not saying im an expert but i sure hope to be someday and i think i can get there with this app!! I need better friends to play now🤣🤣

I wish it had a section that would help on picking a hand
Mahjong is not Solitaire
Wifey04
If you just found out there’s more to Mahjong than ask the solitaire games pushed by ads, this is a great place to start. $12 monthly is too much, as it doesn’t progress into actual hands, but repeats the same 10 questions. The interface and graphics are nicely done. You’ll likely finish during the free trial.

I was taught by NMJL certified instructors. When I got an answer wrong in the quiz I went straight to “the book”. The question was “how many tiles can you pass in a blind pass”. I said 3, which this app said was incorrect. According to NMJL rules I was correct, you can pass 3. Page 12, last paragraph.
A fresh look, and a whole new way to practice.
Practice at a real table. Sit down with Ruth, Bea and Marge. Watch them draw, discard and call, then make your move. Tile recognition, Charleston passes, jokers, calls and reading the table all happen at the table now.
Explore real situations. Step through common table moments, from the Charleston to calling Mahjong. When you’ve finished them all, deal a random hand and keep practicing.
A cleaner Learn tab. See today’s lesson, your seasonal path and your next step at a glance. Lessons look sharper and give clearer feedback.
Progress and Profile, redesigned. Your streak, weekly goal, level and milestones are easier to read, with new pages for your week and how progress works.
Easier to use for everyone. Better support for larger text sizes, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion across the app.
Your privacy, your choice. Table Read now asks before your photo leaves your phone, and you can turn it off anytime in Profile, Privacy & storage.

Smoother Apple Watch sync. Your progress reaches your wrist more reliably, with less background activity.
