Promptur is a teleprompter that listens. It follows your voice and scrolls to the words you're actually saying.
Pause to think and the text waits. Speed up and it keeps pace. Skip a paragraph and it finds you again.
IT FOLLOWS YOUR VOICE
Most teleprompter apps scroll at a fixed speed and make you keep up. Promptur works the other way round. It listens as you read and moves the script to where you are.
Wander off script and it holds your place. Tap any line to carry on from there, or drag the text to move it by hand.
RECORD YOURSELF READING
Camera mode puts your script over the front camera, in the top third of the screen where the lens is. Your eyes stay close to the camera, so you're looking at the viewer instead of down at a page. Press record and Promptur films you, sound included, while it keeps following your voice. Each take saves to your Photos library.
A PROMPTER THAT FILLS THE SCREEN
Large type, full screen, with the line you're reading marked so you don't lose it. Pick one of three themes (Night, Paper or Studio), set the text size, and move the reading line higher or lower. A timer keeps count, and the screen stays awake while you read.
Mirror mode flips the text for a beam-splitter teleprompter rig.
SCRIPTS THAT WORK LIKE NOTES
Your scripts sit in a simple list, newest first. Write, search, swipe to delete. The first line becomes the title. Every script is a plain text file you can see in the Files app, so nothing is locked inside Promptur.
IT NEVER SILENTLY BREAKS
If speech recognition isn't available, Promptur scrolls while it can hear you talking and stops when you stop. Without the microphone, it scrolls at a steady speed. The status line always says which of those it's doing.
YOUR LANGUAGE
Promptur follows your voice in any language your iPhone or iPad has an Apple speech model for, including English, Spanish, German, French and Russian. It uses your device's language unless you pick another in Settings. The app itself is in English.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Speech recognition runs on your device. The audio Promptur listens to is never saved or sent anywhere. The only thing it records is the video you ask for in camera mode, and that goes to your Photos library and nowhere else. No account, no subscription, no analytics.
ON YOUR MAC TOO
Promptur is also on the Mac, where it floats just under your camera and asks macOS to keep it out of your screen share on calls. Same app, free on both.
