LiteRec is a screen recorder that lives in your menu bar. One icon, one menu, one finished file. No Dock icon, no project window, no export step. RECORD WHAT MATTERS Capture your whole screen, a region you drag, or a single window. Window capture keeps everything else out: no desktop clutter, no other apps, no menu bar. The window stays framed even when something moves over it. A FRAME, WHILE YOU RECORD Put your recording inside a frame with padding, a background, rounded corners and a soft shadow, the treatment that makes a demo look finished. It is composed by the GPU as you record, so when you press stop the file is already done. No second pass, no re-encoding, no waiting. Four styles to choose from: none, minimal, studio, or your own desktop wallpaper, blurred. AUDIO THAT ACTUALLY PLAYS System audio and your microphone are mixed into a single track, so the video has sound everywhere: media players, editors, browsers, messaging apps. Recorders that write two separate tracks often play silent in software that reads only the first one. CONTROLS THAT STAY OUT OF THE WAY A floating panel shows elapsed time, a live microphone level and a stop button. It never steals focus from the window you are recording, and it never appears in the video. Start and stop from anywhere with the global shortcut. BUILT LIGHT Written in Swift with ScreenCaptureKit and hardware encoding. No frameworks, no bundled binaries, a few megabytes on disk.
