Stockrankr ranks 10,000+ US stocks and ETFs daily by Return, Drawdown and RRR. Open any row for its Stockrankr Matrix™ — nine ranks across three timeframes. Investors care primarily about risk and return. So every security gets a ranking, making it easy to compare — just like in sports. And we make this the starting point for any analysis. We call this the Stockrankr Method: rank the whole investment universe by actual results. Three measures make it up — return, risk (drawdown) and risk-adjusted returns (risk-return-ratio). We rank more than 10,000 stocks and ETF's listed on a US exchange — simple facts and no subjective opinions. #1 RETURN. Where the price ended against where it started. #2 DRAWDOWN. The largest fall from a peak within the period. Not how much a price fluctuated — how far it actually dropped. A stock that falls 50% needs to gain 100% to get back to where it was, which is why we measure the drawdown rather than the volatility. For example, Priya runs a family office. She cares more about not losing money than about chasing it — a low drawdown convinces her faster than a strong return ever does. #3 risk-return ratio (RRR). The RRR is simply the return divided by that drawdown. For example, James has an advisor. The reports he gets back are full of volatility scores and risk ratings — numbers he can't picture and can't check. RRR is different: one number, plain division, and he can verify it himself in a minute. Suddenly he can evaluate the advisor too. Pick a period — a week, a year, ten years — and the whole ranking is recalculated for it. THE STOCKRANKR MATRIX™ Open any row and you get a 3×3 grid: the three measures over one, three and five years. Nine ranks at a glance, so you can see whether something held up consistently or just had one good year. Green is the top 25% of everything we rank — under the Method, that's Stockrankr+ (the tighter top 15% is Stockrankr++). For example, Chris isn't chasing anything flashy — he's built a short list of stable, boring companies he plans to hold for years, checking in occasionally to see if anything's changed. WHAT HAPPENED, AND HOW LONG IT TOOK TO RECOVER For any security you can see how far it dropped, the date it bottomed, and how long it took to recover to the previous peak — or how far below it still is. YOUR OWN RESEARCH, IN THREE STAGES We provide three lists for free. 'Watching' for what you have noticed. 'Considering' for a real shortlist. 'Deep-diving' for what you are researching properly. Loosely after Benjamin Graham's three-stage approach: descriptive, selective, critical. For example, Marie was a little intimidated by all of it at first — now she just opens the list, starts at #1, and scrolls, with no jargon to learn first. NO RECOMMENDATIONS, AND NOTHING HIDDEN We deliberately avoid providing analyst opinions. No buy or sell calls. No random categorisation of stocks. That's the core of the Stockrankr Method: the math is public, the system built from it is ours. The RRR formula itself was published in 2010 by our Founder, Dr Richard Johnsson — anyone can check the maths on Wikipedia. Rankings update once a day: a considered picture you can check in on, not another live ticker. For example, Tom didn't trust a number he couldn't check, so he worked one out by hand and got the same answer — now he has something he can trust more than any financial media. And Aisha checks in once a week — Sunday, coffee in hand, she reads the summary and closes the app. She now has the facts. No predictions. No noise. Just the record, plain and checkable. WHAT'S FREE, AND WHAT'S PRO Free: the top 100 on every measure, over every period, search across all 10,000+, and the three research lists. Stockrankr+ and ++, extra lists of your own, and the weekly summary come with Pro — 7 days free. We deliberately set the app up so you don't need an account. Your lists stay on your phone, for privacy. Stockrankr is an information service. It does not give financial advice or recommend any security.
