Here's what's new in Ryval. Smoother replays At fast playback speeds, the camera now follows your Ride from further out and faces down the road instead of swinging round every bend. Replay videos you share look calmer too. Smoother Friends map Switching from one Friend to another on the map now flies smoothly, without the stutter. Easier setup The Permissions step now asks for location first, then Motion and Notifications. Sample Ride Hid the Sample Ride by mistake? Until your first Ride, you can bring it back from Settings. Here's what's new in Ryval. Watch Friends ride live When you watch a Friend on the Friends tab, their Beacon now moves live, right where they are. A row of riding Friends' avatars sits on top: tap one to follow them on the map, and Ryval keeps your 2D or 3D view. Once you have a Friend, a small Invite Friends button takes the place of the invite card. One trip, one Ride Stopped for fuel and ended up with two Rides? Ryval spots a Ride split by short stops and offers to make it one Ride again, with each break kept as a Stop. Landscape Share Cards Share Cards now come in a Landscape 16:9 size too. Better playback Playing back a Ride now starts with a 15-second overview of the whole Ride, and the view holds your heading through Stops instead of turning around. Smoother every day A Capture Session now ends about a minute after you park and walk away. If location isn't set to Always yet, Ryval reminds you, so your next Ride is saved on its own. Here's what's new in Ryval. Flyover videos With Ryval Pro, turn a Ride into a Flyover: a smooth 3D video that flies along your route, ready to share. Leave your Rider Model out of a Flyover if you like, and Ryval shows how far along your video is while it's made. Satellite for everyone The Satellite map style is now free. A new Ride Coverage switch in Map Style turns the lines of all your Rides on or off. A simpler Ride screen While you ride, the screen keeps to your speed. Tap Show map to see your Ride drawn live on the Dashboard. Changed bikes mid-way? Pick another Vehicle for this Ride from Recording settings, and your Default Vehicle stays the same. Tidier Settings Settings opens on a short page, with Preferences and Capture on pages of their own. Your Profile leads with your Avatar, and Save sits at the top. Smoother every day Rides that start while Ryval is in the background keep recording all the way, and long Rides use no more battery at hour three than at minute one. On the Dashboard, your line and position move together without stalling, and riding Friends glide smoothly to where they are. Here's what's new in Ryval. Your Rider Model Show yourself on the map as a 3D motorcycle, car or something sillier, in your colour. It appears on your live position, when you replay a ride and on your Beacon for Friends. The naked bike and the sedan are free; the rest come with Ryval Pro. Live lean angle On a motorcycle with Ryval Pro, the ride screen shows your lean angle live, right next to your speed. Put your phone on a mount, tap Set upright, and Ryval measures your lean from the phone itself, even standing still. After the ride, see your hardest lean to the left and to the right. Rides in 3D, and Satellite Tilt the map with the new 3D button or two fingers to see the terrain and the sky, and the map remembers your choice. With Ryval Pro, pick the new Satellite map style for real imagery over 3D terrain, and the ride profile uses the map's elevation when your phone's GPS altitude isn't reliable. Clearer maps Every ride starts at a green dot and ends at a chequered flag, on the map and on your share cards. The map of all your rides draws one line per road, brighter on the roads you ride most. When you open a friend, your own location steps aside so their route is easy to read. Share more, for free Every still share card is now free: Shape, Map, Photo and Sticker. Send one straight to Instagram Stories with the new button. Friends Get a notification when a Friend starts riding. Turn it off for everyone in Settings or for one Friend on their page.
