Cinch - The game

Hold. Let go. Seal the ring.

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

One bead, one ring, one thumb. Hold to lay colour behind it and let go before you hit the ink — the closer you stop, the more it pays. A bead runs clockwise around a ring. Hold to lay a band of colour behind it. Let go before it runs into the ink. That's the whole game, and it is harder than it sounds — because the only way to score well is to stop as late as you dare. An arc pays by its length, and stopping within a couple of degrees of the ink pays triple. Every run is the same question, over and over: one more degree, or let go now? HOW TO PLAY • Hold anywhere to start laying an arc from wherever the bead is • Release to lock it in — the closer to the ink, the bigger the multiplier • Painting into ink ends the run • Fill the band until no gap is big enough to use, and the ring seals • Seal a ring and the next one arrives, in a new colour, with more ink in the way WHAT MAKES IT TICK • The bead only ever speeds up. Sealing a ring is the one thing that slows it back down, so dawdling costs you and so does one enormous greedy hold. • Short arcs fizzle instead of locking, so a mistimed tap never kills you — but any gap you leave too small to use is dead space you can never fill, and it shows up in your coverage. • That coverage percentage in the middle is the real score. Sealing a ring at 99% is worth many times sealing it at 85%, so the sloppy fast route loses to the patient one. • Every ring takes the next colour in the set, and the row of dots under the band records how far you got — in colour. A screenshot at ring nine looks like an achievement, because it is one. WHAT YOU WON'T FIND No accounts. No logins. No energy timers, no waiting, no pay-to-win. Your best score lives on your device and nowhere else. Press play and you are in the game in under a second. Built for one thumb, in portrait, for the bus, the queue and the lift. Sound and haptics can each be switched off, and Reduce Motion is respected.
