Freano: Learn Piano Lessons
Play-along songs & sheet music
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Freano is a piano teacher that fits in your pocket — built for beginners, with real sheet music, a big touch keyboard, and songs you already know.
LEARN STEP BY STEP
• 59 guided lessons across 9 stages, from your very first notes to scales, chords, intervals, seventh chords, inversions, and playing in every key
• Freano acts like a patient tutor: the music waits for you and only moves on once you hit the right note
• Easy-to-read grand staff notation for both hands, so you build real note-reading skills, not just muscle memory
PLAY REAL SONGS
• 48 classical pieces and folk songs, from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Ode to Joy to Für Elise, Canon in D, and The Entertainer — all in the public domain
• Practice right hand, left hand, or both hands together
• Slow any song down to 50% or 75% speed, with a built-in metronome and count-in
NEW: PRACTICE THE HARD PART
• Pause anytime and pick up right where you left off after a two-beat count-in
• Jump back 4 beats with a single tap
• Loop any section — pick the part you're stuck on and it repeats until you say stop
• After each run-through, practice only the notes you missed
DAILY PRACTICE
• 51 exercises in all 12 keys: scales, arpeggios, chord progressions, finger patterns, and left-hand accompaniment
• Ear training to sharpen your musical instincts
• Track minutes practiced today and keep your daily streak going
• Record yourself on the Play tab, listen back, and share a take as a MIDI file
• Optional daily practice reminder at the time you choose
PLAY ON YOUR OWN KEYBOARD
• Connect a MIDI keyboard with a USB adapter, or just let the microphone listen to your acoustic piano
• Note detection runs right on your device — your sound is never recorded or uploaded
• Fine-tune detection for your own instrument in Settings
SIMPLE AND PRIVATE
• No sign-up, no account
• Works offline
• Built for phones and tablets, with a bigger keyboard view on tablets
