At first it is no help at all. It sleeps, it wanders off, it barges through the rows you have just tidied. Pet it enough and it cheers up — and a happy puppy starts carrying grains to where they belong. Slowly. Not always to the right heap. The rest is simple: a plate of mixed grains and two places to put them. No levels, no lives, no timer, nothing to keep up with. Put the phone down in the middle of a plate and every grain is waiting exactly where you left it. Quiet work, warm company.
