WHAT IT MEASURES
• Hesitations — every "um" and "uh" it can prove, with the moment each one happened. Tap one to hear yourself.
• Pace — your words per minute, against the band a listener finds comfortable.
• Pauses — how long your silences run, and which ones stop reading as thinking and start reading as lost.
• Pitch — whether your voice actually moves, or flattens out.
• Volume — whether you fade away at the end of sentences, where the point usually lives.
THE PART NOBODY ELSE DOES
Elocute reports a floor, not a total. If it says seven, you said at least seven. It will never round up to sound clever or round down to flatter you, and it will never invent a score.
That sounds like a small thing. It is the whole thing. A number you cannot trust is worse than no number, because you will train against it.
TWO MODES, AND THE DIAGNOSIS BETWEEN THEM
Improvising measures your delivery and your thinking at once. Reading aloud measures delivery on its own, because the words are already there.
Compare the two and you learn something no single score can tell you: whether you hesitate because your mouth is untrained, or because your thoughts are still catching up. They need completely different practice.
THREE MINUTES A DAY
Each drill is built from whatever your last session was worst at — hold the pause, let the sentence move, finish the last three words out loud. Every drill ends in a measured session rather than a pat on the back.
Six texts across five levels of difficulty, from plain narrative to dense argument, or paste your own — a speech, a pitch, a toast you have to give.
EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
There is no account and no upload. Your voice is recorded, analysed and stored on this device — speech recognition runs here too, so audio is never sent anywhere — and one tap deletes all of it. The only thing that leaves your phone is your subscription status.
FREE AND SUBSCRIPTION
Every session is measured in full, for free, always. A subscription keeps the memory: your baseline, the trend between sessions, the improvising-versus-reading diagnosis, the daily drills and the full text library.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple account settings.
