Paris, Rome, New York, Kyoto — find the landmarks and World Heritage sites of 16 cities in real street imagery, and collect them in a travel almanac of your own. A virtual trip around the world, ten minutes a day.
Follow faint signs on real maps and discover landmarks, food, culture and transport. No combat, no grinding, no gacha.
■ How to play
- Pick a city on the world map, and a real map opens up
- Somewhere in that city, three "presences" are drifting faintly
- "Something smells like broth around here." "A large shadow, far off."
- Tap inside a presence to "listen closely" - the circle narrows and a terrain hint opens
- Tap again inside the narrowed circle, and you will always find something
- What you find is shown in real-world imagery, with a piece of local trivia
■ Reading the map is the skill
Along the river, next to the station, deep in the old town - guess "it should be around here" from the terrain and the streets. Walk close to the real spot for a bonus.
■ 16 cities, 320 discoveries
- Japan: Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Yokohama, Kobe (free to play)
- Europe: Paris, Rome, London, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Berlin
- Asia and Oceania: Singapore, Sydney
- The Americas: New York, San Francisco
The Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Sagrada Família, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Brandenburg Gate, the Sydney Opera House - from famous sights to local food and the way each city gets around.
■ A reason to travel every day
- A daily trip, a daily theme and a streak record
- A "golden presence" that appears in each city once a week. Catch it for triple XP, and it stays gold in your almanac
- "Photo of the day" - look at real scenery and guess which city it is
- "Recall notes" - bring back the trivia you read earlier
- A weekly challenge
- A home screen widget and a daily reminder
■ The joy of collecting
- A World Heritage collection
- Cross-border quests such as "Towers of the World" and "Ancient Prayers", plus city quests (18 in all)
- Complete a city and a stamp is pressed into your passport
- 25 achievement badges (streaks, world heritage, night walks and more)
- "Learn more" in the almanac opens a second piece of trivia for every discovery
- "Reverse stroll" in the cities you completed - look at the scenery and find the place on the map again
■ Compare your skill
- "Today's record" - everyone chases the same presences on the same day, so your average distance from the true spot is the measure of your skill
- Game Center leaderboards and achievements
■ World Pass (one-time purchase)
- Unlocks 11 cities abroad and removes the daily exploration limit
- Terrain hints are visible from the start, with no need to listen closely
- No need to watch ads to add explorations
- Includes every city added in the future, forever
- You can also try a few steps in a World Pass city by watching an ad
■ Also
- iCloud sync, so your almanac survives a new phone
- Real-world imagery appears where Apple Maps Look Around is available
■ This is for you if
- You love to travel, but you can't go right now
- You want your commute, or the ten minutes before bed, to make you a little smarter
- You like looking at maps, and you like filling in a collection
- You enjoy World Heritage sites, city walks and trivia
