JotRail is a calm, local-first notes app for Mac that keeps a thought close without taking over your workspace. CAPTURE IN A SECOND • Capture from the edge, a keyboard shortcut, the Library, Share, Services, or Shortcuts. • Return to a readable note with Quick Switcher instead of losing your place. • Every note is saved locally first, so capture and export remain useful offline. KEEP THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF PRESENCE • Keep a few notes visible as a compact Rail. • Use Bubbles for compact, softly moving signals; hover one to open only that note while the others stay closed. • Switch to Beacon when one quiet control is enough. • Snap readable cards to a display edge with Side dock. • Keep the global edge quiet with Library only, or detach the same note into a Floating Sticky. WRITE WITH YOUR OWN RHYTHM • Open a focused Edge Editor and start typing immediately. • Write paragraphs, headings, lists, quotes, code, links, checklists, and attachments. • Choose 6 note-card treatments: Paper, Risograph, Editorial, Glass, Nocturne, or Minimal. • Start with 5 curated quick themes and 6 coordinated palettes, then use a cycle or one consistent color for new notes. • Tune per-note presence opacity and editor reading zoom. • Choose System, Serif, Monospaced, or Handwritten editor typography. • Set Compact, Standard, or Airy line spacing for comfortable reading. FIND, FINISH, AND RECOVER • Search active and archived notes locally as you type, or use Quick Switcher to jump straight back to a note. • Organize with Inbox, Active, Pinned, Scheduled, Archive, Trash, Recovery, and collections. • Complete a note with a clear Undo path and optional Reminders or Share follow-up. • Keep conflict revisions and failed imports recoverable in Recovery Center. PRIVATE, DURABLE, PORTABLE • SQLite storage, revision history, and a durable sync outbox keep local work safe. • Optional private iCloud sync clearly shows queued, sent, fetched, paused, and recoverable states. • Locked notes use authenticated encryption and stay out of search and diagnostics. • Export readable Markdown, text, RTF, PDF, single-note, and JotRail archive files. • Share to Apple Notes through supported system handoffs; JotRail never accesses Apple Notes private databases. • No advertising or third-party analytics SDK. JotRail includes a 14-day Pro. Notes remain readable and exportable after the trial. Pro unlocks unlimited active notes, iCloud sync, all presence modes and displays, advanced placement, custom palettes, and native handoffs.
