Opens on the voyage you’re on. During the voyage, the Voyage tab shows the day and today’s meals, and the Calendar opens on today. Open a meal for its amounts for that day’s crew and its cooking steps. Try a sample voyage: a week’s charter for six, already planned, to see how the calendar becomes the grocery list. On the iPhone, the grocery list comes first. The cart remembers how many went in: if the plan grows, the line comes back with what is still to buy. Meals aboard that aren’t planned are counted, since they buy nothing. Change a voyage after you make it: the name, the first day, the number of days and the crew every day. Dates are set with − and +, on your phone’s own date. What the shopping cost: after the shopping, enter each store’s total and a picture of its receipt. Send it to Ship’s Purse on the same phone, or to another phone by AirDrop or Messages. Snacks for the voyage: choose the snacks to keep aboard once, on the Voyage tab, from a library of sixteen. Voyages planned before this version have no snacks until you choose them. A memo on any line of the grocery list: “4 six-packs Red Stripe, 2 of Carib.” It prints under the item and goes out with Send. Drinks aboard lists every drink. Soda and mixers are separate, and Other drinks covers the rest. Food that won’t keep is one warning naming the meals by day, with Won’t keep on each meal. A new look: the Rainbow’s End seal on the icon, the logo’s colors in daylight, and larger buttons and rows. Anything you turn on or off is a switch, and a delete asks for a second tap. On the iPad, the Calendar grid grows with a larger text size. Fixed: the first day defaulted to tomorrow in the evening; clearing a quantity on the list to type a new one.

On an iPad in landscape the app now uses the whole screen. The Calendar becomes a grid: days across, meals down, the week at a glance. Tap a meal and a panel beside the grid plans it. Tap a day to change its crew. The grocery list keeps Print, Adjust and Split the shopping in view while the list scrolls, and a split list stands the shoppers' shares side by side, a column each. The Galley shows the meal list beside the full recipe. On iPhone everything looks as it did. Also new since 1.0.6: clearer wording throughout. The About page lists what each tab does and how to start, and the help sheets, warnings and printed pages say the same in fewer words. The Support, Marketing and Privacy Policy links on this page open the app's pages under its current name.

Split the shopping. Several of the crew in the store at once? On the List tab, say how many are shopping and name them if you like. The list divides into one share each, a run of neighboring aisles apiece, so nobody crosses the store twice: small aisles are combined, and an aisle too big for one share is divided between two shoppers. The shares come out even by count of items, give or take a few. Send hands a shopper their share as a message; Print the list to give each shopper a page of their own.

A new name for the same app: Rainbow’s End Galley is now Rainbow’s End Provisioning, because provisioning the boat is what it does. Your voyages, meals and lists come through the update untouched. Your plans on every device. Switch on iCloud sync at the foot of the Voyage tab and every device signed into your Apple ID keeps the same plan: your voyages with every meal planned, the cart and your adjustments to the list, what’s already aboard, your beverage rates, and your own meals. Plan on the iPad at the table, shop from the phone in the aisle. It travels only through your own iCloud — no account with us, no server of ours, and we cannot read it. Off until you turn it on, on each device; with it off, the app still makes no network requests at all.
