A full game of Korean chess, entirely on your phone.
AI Janggi is an on-device Janggi (Korean chess) app — no server, no sign-in, no cloud. Even the AI engine runs on the device, so the game plays identically in airplane mode.
■ The real rules
· 4 opening setups (horse & elephant arrangements)
· Passing — when not in check you may skip a turn, so there is no stalemate loss (just like the real game)
· Facing generals forbidden; threefold repetition is a draw
· Score system — Rook 13, Cannon 7, Horse 5, Elephant 3, Guard 3, Soldier 2, with a 1.5-point bonus for Han moving second. At the move limit, points decide the game
■ 5 AI levels
From novice to master (search depth 6). Lower levels wobble like a human; higher levels calculate deep. Replies never take more than 3 seconds.
■ Hints
Stuck? The hint button shows the best move and alternatives, each with an evaluation in piece points.
■ Replay
Finished games are saved automatically. Step through move by move or autoplay.
■ Setup Lab (new)
A proper study of the four horse setups that exist only in janggi. See the attack, defence and flexibility of each setup as numbers, check all 16 matchups between your setup and your opponent's (favoured / even / tough) with a strategy tip for each, and watch your per-setup record build up until the app can tell you which setup suits you best.
■ Learn
Checkmate, double-attack and defense puzzles, plus a daily challenge with streaks.
■ Stats & achievements
Rating, record, win streaks and 12 achievements — all stored on this device only.
■ 5 languages
Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
No purchases, no account. No data is collected.
■ About ads
Ads appear only when you open the app — at most 3 times a day, at least 4 hours apart. Nothing interrupts a match, a puzzle, or a replay, and there are no banners. You never see one on the first launch after installing. Every feature, hints included, is free and unlimited. Google AdMob processes the device information it needs to serve the ad (not personalized).
