Your Mac sleeps. Whatever you left running does not survive it.
Nightwatch is a menu bar app that keeps your Mac awake for exactly as long as
you need it, and no longer. Start a session for fifteen minutes, until nine in
the morning, or indefinitely. The countdown sits in the menu bar so you always
know what is holding your machine up.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Nightwatch knows when your AI coding agents are working. Turn on the fleet
trigger and it starts a session by itself the moment Claude Code, Codex or Kimi
begins a turn, then lets go once they have been quiet for a few minutes. You
stop thinking about it. It reads only when each session journal was last
written, never what is inside it, and nothing ever leaves your Mac.
TRIGGERS
Keep the Mac awake while an agent is working, while it is on power, while the
CPU is busy, or between two times of day. Any of them, all of them, or none.
GUARDS
A laptop held awake in a bag is the one way an app like this can ruin your day,
so Nightwatch refuses to be that. It ends the session by itself if the battery
falls below the level you set, or if macOS reports the Mac is running
critically hot, and it tells you which one happened.
QUIET BY DEFAULT
The screen is free to go dark while the machine keeps working. No account, no
sign in, no server, no analytics, no network code at all.
Nightwatch is part of Ground Control, which puts your coding agents on your
phone. It works perfectly well on its own.
Ratings & Reviews

Nightwatch now asks for each agent folder on its own, instead of your whole home folder. Open Settings, then Fleet, and press Allow next to the agents you use. Each panel opens in the right place, so it is one click.
It still reads four folders only, where Claude Code, Codex and Kimi keep their session logs, and it only looks at when each file last changed.
