Menu bar clipboard history that never steals focus, plus a screenshot tool that snaps to windows, annotates, and pins the result above every other app.
Everything you copy, and everything you capture, one keystroke away.
Paster lives in the menu bar. Press ⌥⌘V and the panel opens over whatever you are working in — without taking focus, so your app stays frontmost and ⌘V still pastes where you left off.
CLIPBOARD HISTORY
• Text, rich text, images and files, kept automatically
• Copy the same thing twice and it returns to the top instead of piling up
• Search the whole history, with substring search that works in Chinese, Japanese and Korean
• Filter by type, favorite the clips you keep coming back to, and open any image or long text at full size
• Every row shows where it came from and how long ago
COLORS GET THEIR OWN TAB
Copy a color in any notation and Paster draws it as a swatch instead of a string of characters. One click converts it to the notations you have not written yet — HEX, RGB, HSL, HSB — and copies it. Transparency shows over a checkerboard rather than quietly disappearing.
SCREENSHOT AND ANNOTATION
• ⌥⌘S freezes the screen and hands you a selection
• Hover a window and the selection snaps to it
• A pixel magnifier reads the exact color under the pointer in HEX or RGB
• Mark it up before you copy: rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow, pencil, marker, text, numbered badges, mosaic and blur
• Undo and redo anything, including strokes hidden under a mosaic
• Return copies it, or save a PNG
PIN IT TO THE SCREEN
• Pin any image as a floating window that stays above every other app
• Drag it, scroll to resize, hold a modifier and scroll to fade it
• Pins survive a restart — they come back exactly where you left them
• A screenshot pins onto the pixels it was taken from, so the screen looks frozen in place
WHITEBOARD
⌥⌘W opens a blank canvas with the same annotation tools. Or send an image straight from the history into one with ⌘E.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR MAC
Paster makes no network connections of any kind. There is no account, no sync, no telemetry and no backend — the app has no code that can reach the internet. It is fully sandboxed. Clips that an app marks confidential, the nspasteboard.org convention password managers follow, are never recorded. History is capped at 1,000 items and 30 days; favorites and pinned images are never swept.
SPEAKS YOUR LANGUAGE
31 languages, including right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew. Choose one from the menu bar icon, or follow the system.
