Click once in Safari and the page you are reading lands in Notes — text, photos and working links intact. Nothing leaves your Mac.
Clip to Notes saves the web page you are reading straight into Notes. One click. No copy and paste, no account, no browser tabs left open for weeks.
Click the paperclip in Safari's toolbar and the page arrives in Notes as a clean, readable note: the headline, a link back to the source, the date you saved it, and the article itself — headings, lists, and the page's own photographs embedded right where they belong. Links still work. Code stays monospaced.
WHAT IT IS GOOD AT
• Articles. You get the story, not the navigation, the ads, the cookie banner, the newsletter box or the "you might also like" rail.
• Recipes. Recognised automatically and laid out the way you would want to cook from: yield and time, then Ingredients, then Instructions. Machine decimals become real cooking fractions, so "0.75 teaspoon" arrives as "¾ teaspoon".
• Illustrated guides. Long repair and how-to guides keep every step heading and every step photo, in the right order, with store thumbnails and buy boxes left behind.
• Reference and code. Code blocks stay monospaced and indented. A question-and-answer page keeps both the question and the answer.
EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR MAC
There is no account, no sign-in, no server and no analytics. Clip to Notes never sends your browsing anywhere. The only network requests it makes are to fetch the images on the page you chose to clip, so the finished note is complete and readable offline.
IT READS ONLY WHAT YOU ASK IT TO
The extension has no standing access to any website. It reads a page at the instant you click its toolbar button, and at no other time.
YOUR NOTES, YOUR FOLDER
Clips go to a Notes folder you choose — "Web Clips" by default — and you can change it whenever you like.
ONE-TIME SETUP
The Notes app accepts richly formatted notes only through Shortcuts, and macOS lets a sandboxed app talk to Notes and Shortcuts only through a script kept in your own Application Scripts folder — so the app's window walks you through four quick steps the first time. Turn the extension on in Safari. Install the small helper script that ships inside the app. Add the "Clip to Notes Import" shortcut that ships inside it too. Choose the folder your clips are filed in. It takes about a minute, each step shows a green check when it is done, and nothing is downloaded at any point.
