PointTaker
Badminton scoreboard on wrist
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Club night shouldn't need a scorekeeper. Tap the side that won the rally — serve rotation, deuce and game points sort themselves out on your iPhone or Apple Watch.
Point Taker turns your iPhone into a courtside umpire's scoreboard — and puts the same
scoreboard on your Apple Watch.
Prop the phone on the sideline, tap the side that won the rally, and keep your eyes on the
shuttle. Serve rotation, service courts, deuce and game points all take care of themselves.
ONE TAP PER RALLY
Each side gets a giant, full-height panel. Tap it to award the rally. The score animates up and
serve passes to the winner automatically, exactly as rally scoring requires. There is nothing
else to learn and nothing else to press.
THE OFFICIAL RULES, BUILT IN
• First to 21 points takes the game
• Must win by 2 — deuce keeps running past 21
• Hard cap at 30 — first to 30 wins outright
• A winner alert offers Next Game or Undo, and the winner of the last game serves first in the
next one
SINGLES AND DOUBLES
Flip between modes with one toggle. Singles shows a single serve indicator per side. Doubles
labels P1 and P2 and tracks service-court rotation properly — even scores serve from the right
court, odd from the left, and partners swap courts when the serving side keeps winning. Get it
wrong in your head and the whole game drifts; the app just gets it right.
UNDO THAT ACTUALLY UNDOES
Undo rolls the last rally back completely — score, serve, service-court positions, and the game
credit if that tap ended a game. Reset clears the board back to 0–0.
BUILT TO BE READ FROM THE COURT
Huge monospaced digits, a high-contrast yellow-and-black scoreboard, and a layout that adapts:
portrait stacks the teams top and bottom, landscape sets them side by side. The near-end side
mirrors its player labels so the board reads the way you're standing. The screen stays awake
while a match is in progress, because a scoreboard is glanced at, not tapped.
APPLE WATCH COMPANION
The full scoreboard on your wrist for quick, unobtrusive updates between rallies. The watch
keeps the score in front of you for the length of the match instead of dropping back to the
clock face, and logs the session as a badminton workout in Health when you're done. Always On
displays keep the score visible with the wrist down.
PICKS UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
The match is saved after every rally. If the phone locks on the sideline, gets reclaimed by iOS,
or force-quits, you come back to the same score — with undo history intact. Matches go stale
after four hours: long enough for a club night with breaks, short enough that tomorrow morning
starts you at a clean 0–0.
SOUND AND FEEL
A short haptic and a synthesized musical sting mark game point and game won, so the moment
registers even if nobody's looking at the phone. Cues mix with your music rather than
interrupting it.
NO ACCOUNT, NO INTERNET, NO TRACKING
Point Taker never asks you to sign in, never goes online, and collects nothing. Your match
lives on your device and nowhere else.
Built for players who'd rather watch the rally than count it.
