Hekto | Barometric Pressure

Your threshold, from your logs

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

We warn you before the pressure drops. “8 hPa fall: 9 of 12 days logged unwell.” Counts, not predictions. Free on Apple Watch: the next 12 hours, one-tap logging. We tell you before the pressure drops. And as your logs build up, the kind of drop that tends to affect you starts to show. ■ Counts, not predictions Weather affects people differently. So Hekto looks back at the days you logged, counts the pressure on those days, and says: “On days when the pressure fell 8 hPa in six hours, you logged feeling unwell 9 times out of 12.” That is not a forecast. It is a count of what already happened. So we can tell you when a similar drop is coming. ■ One tap on a hard day Pick a face. The pressure at that moment is saved with it. When you feel bad, you cannot fill in a long form. Open the details only when you want more: symptoms, medication, a free note. ■ See why we said that Tap “Why?” and you see what went into the call. The fall over six and twenty-four hours, how low the pressure is now, humidity, rain, and the change in temperature since yesterday. Six factors, drawn as bars. The same screen also says these figures are estimates from a forecast model. ■ Medication counter It counts the days you took headache medication over the last 30 days. The International Classification of Headache Disorders (ICHD-3) calls it “overuse” when painkillers are taken on 15 or more days a month, or triptans and similar on 10 or more, kept up for longer than three months. It gives you something concrete to show your doctor. It never checks whether you have paid. ■ Warning signs Some combinations of symptoms bring up a screen suggesting you see a doctor. Both the trigger and the wording follow published, general guidance. It is not the result of an examination. This is free too. We never lock anything related to safety. ■ No ads Not one. And we will not shrink the free tier later. ■ Free, and staying free ・Condition and medication records ・2-day forecast and alerts ・Alerts for your location ・Medication counter ・Warning signs and doctor summary The same list appears inside the app, word for word. Also on Apple Watch: now and the next 12 hours, one tap to log even offline, and on your watch face. ■ What Hekto Pro adds ・10-day pressure forecast ・Up to 90 days back on the graph ・All your logs, and the overlap with pressure at any time ・A monthly review of your unwell logs and pressure drops ・Alerts set to your own threshold ・Up to 5 locations ・A 24-hour graph on the wide widget ・PDF and CSV for any period If you turn it on, Hekto reads sleep time, heart rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate from Apple Health (HealthKit) for your monthly review. Read-only, on this device, never saved or sent. Yearly and weekly plans. Prices are shown by the App Store. Free trial length is shown in the app, per plan. ■ Please read Hekto is not a medical device. It does not find illness, and it does not decide treatment. For decisions about your health or treatment, talk to a medical professional. Do not skip an appointment, or change what your doctor told you, because of something Hekto showed. Weather explains only part of it. The same sky can leave you fine one day and not the next. So the days we get wrong stay in your records too. ■ Your data ・Logs are kept and synced on our server, with your consent where the law requires it ・The optional period log (start and end dates only) is never sent to us ・You can use the app without signing in, with an anonymous account ・You can delete individual logs, or your whole account, from inside the app ・What we send to others is written in the privacy policy ■ Sources Weather data: Open-Meteo (national weather services' numerical models) Method informed by: Katsuki 2023 and others Medication-day thresholds: ICHD-3 (International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition) Apple standard Terms of Use (EULA) https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Terms https://hekto.blackstar.bz/en/terms Privacy https://hekto.blackstar.bz/en/privacy Medical notice https://hekto.blackstar.bz/en/medical-notice

New in 1.1.1 ・The Pro screen now lists all eight things Pro includes: a 10-day pressure forecast; up to 90 days back on the graph; all your logs, and the overlap with pressure at any time; a monthly review, which can also show sleep and heart data from Apple Health; alerts set to your own threshold; up to 5 locations; a 24-hour graph on the wide widget; and PDF and CSV for any period. All of these were already part of Pro. Some just weren't on the list. ・Wide widget: without Pro, tapping the locked area now opens Hekto on the Pro screen. A new line under the lock says the small widget is free (Lock Screen widgets are free too). ・Settings → Apple Watch: a new row that shows whether Hekto is installed on your watch. Tap it to see what Hekto does on the watch and how to install it if it isn't there. On Apple Watch, you can check the pressure now and for the next 12 hours, keep it on your watch face, and log with one tap. All free, no Pro needed. Fixes ・If Hekto stayed open past midnight, logs you added after that didn't appear in the Diary list or count in the medication counter until you reopened the app. Both now update immediately. ・The log count for your threshold on Today and Report sometimes lagged behind; it now goes up as soon as you log.
