Step in your boat, tell CanalRoute how long you want to be out, and get a scenic route — or a round-trip loop back to where you started — through Amsterdam's canals.
CanalRoute plans scenic boat routes through Amsterdam's canals. Tell it how long you want to be out, and it maps a route — or a round-trip loop back to where you started — entirely over water.
Step in your boat, tap once, and go.
WHY CANALROUTE
• One-tap planning — pick how long you want to be out (30 minutes to a few hours) and get a route that fits the time.
• Loops back to you — tap a favorite and get a round-trip that starts and ends right where you are. No dead ends, no backtracking.
• Always over water — routing follows the real canal network, respecting one-way canals, so you never get a straight line across a block of houses.
• Highlights along the way — viewpoints, cafés, museums and landmarks light up on the map. Tap one to see why it's worth a stop.
• Made for the water — direction arrows show the way to go, and a built-in guide to the official Dutch waterway signs (BPR / RST 2008) is one tap away.
• Curated tours — hand-built routes through Amsterdam's best canals, from the Grand Canal Tour to the quiet Western Islands.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No login. No ads. CanalRoute doesn't ask who you are and doesn't track you. Your location is used on your device to plan and guide your route; anonymous route traces that help improve routing are strictly opt-in.
FOR SAFETY
CanalRoute is a scenic planning aid, not an official nautical chart or navigation authority. Always follow the real signage, bridge and lock heights, one-way markings, speed limits and local rules on the water — they take priority over the app.
