Keep Awake is a menu bar switch that stops your Mac from going to sleep while you need it up. Long-running AI agents, builds, downloads and remote sessions finish instead of dying the moment nobody touches the keyboard.
Turn on Keep Awake With the Lid Closed and you can shut the MacBook and carry it to a meeting under your arm while the work keeps running. No external display, no dock, nothing to plug in except power.
HOW IT WORKS
- Click the face in the menu bar: wide eyes mean your Mac stays awake, closed eyes mean it may sleep as usual.
- Right-click for timers: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1, 2, 5 or 12 hours, or indefinitely.
- Keep Awake With the Lid Closed keeps the Mac running after you shut the lid. macOS only allows this while the Mac is connected to power, so on battery a closed lid still sleeps; the menu tells you when that applies.
- Choose whether the display stays on too, or only the Mac itself.
- Launch at login so it is always one click away.
Keep Awake uses the same power assertions macOS itself uses. Nothing is installed at the system level, and closing the app or picking Allow Sleep restores normal behaviour immediately.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts and no ads. The only thing the app sends is anonymous usage statistics (which screens were shown and subscription steps), with no identifier, to our own server. Nothing personal about you or your Mac is collected.
SUBSCRIPTION
Keep Awake - $4.99 per month, with your first 30 days free. The subscription unlocks the app.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it any time in Settings. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription.
