You and a rival start in the same city, in the same year, at the bottom of the same ladder.
Eight rungs: ward organizer, city council, mayor, state senator, senator, governor, party nominee, president. Two or three cards a year. Every card tells you why it happened, and what your choice just did to the other candidate.
THE RIVAL
Your rival is a named person with a temperament, and their career runs on the same engine as yours. Refuse a donor's money and they take it. Vote against the party and they collect the favour. Their ladder sits beside yours on every screen, and the run ends the year one of you reaches the top.
EVERY OUTCOME NAMES ITS CAUSE
Choices open named threads — Grassroots, Owed, Scandal, Burnout, Party Machine — and a thread you fed at 31 is what fires an event at 44. Tap any thread to see the exact years that fed it and every documented way out of it.
ELECTION NIGHT SHOWS ITS ARITHMETIC
No hidden dice. An election card lists your standing, what each open thread adds or costs, the total, the odds, and the number you rolled. When you lose, you can see precisely why.
WHAT IS NOT IN HERE
No timers. No energy meters. No coins. No adverts of any kind, and no advert kit in the build. Your first run is free from the first card to the last, and running again is one purchase, once — never a subscription.
Rewind takes a year back on both ladders when a choice goes wrong. It is optional, and it says its price.
Every person, city, party and office in the game is invented.
