Letters brings your Marbotic Smart Letters blocks back to life on iPad. Place a real wooden letter on the screen and Munchi, a friendly little monster, recognizes it instantly - he makes the sound that letter makes, and gives your child a word that starts with it. Real hands, real letters, real learning.
We built Letters for our own family. Our first child learned with a beautiful wooden-letter toy; by the time our youngest was ready, the original app had disappeared from the App Store. The blocks were too good to waste, so we built the app we wished still existed and tested every bit of it with our kids.
THREE WAYS TO PLAY
- Meet the Letters. Put down any block. Munchi makes its sound and gives your child a word that starts with it.
- Feed Munchi. Munchi makes a sound. Your child finds the letter that makes it and feeds Munchi that block.
- Word Snacks. Munchi says a short word. Your child builds it block by block, one letter at a time.
SOUNDS, NOT NAMES
Munchi says mmm, not "em". That is the part of a letter that blends into a word, which is why early reading starts there and leaves letter names for school. Every sound was recorded for little ears and checked letter by letter.

COMPATIBILITY
Letters works with the uppercase Marbotic Smart Letters blocks - the wooden letters that came with the discontinued app. The lowercase set is not supported. Each block identifies itself through three contact points on the screen, and Letters is built around that set. It needs those blocks; there is nothing to use without them. Letters is an independent app and is not affiliated with Marbotic.
The old toy still works. Now the app does too.
