Kawali: Video Recipe Saver
Filipino Food & Grocery List
Free · In‑App Purchases
Found a recipe in a video? Paste the link and Kawali writes it out and builds your grocery list. Built for Filipino food, and ready for every other recipe you love.
Kawali turns cooking videos into recipes you can cook from. Paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook, and Kawali writes out the ingredients and steps and puts what you need on your grocery list. It was built for Filipino food, and it works for every other recipe you love too.
BUILT FOR FILIPINO RECIPES
Patis stays patis, with "fish sauce" beside it. Kawali knows toyo, suka, bawang, gata, calamansi, siling labuyo, kangkong, sitaw, malunggay, and many more, and it follows along whether the cook talks in English, Tagalog, or Taglish. And when tonight is pasta or pho instead of pancit, Kawali reads those recipes the same way.
HONEST RECIPES
If the cook never says how much garlic, Kawali tells you the amount wasn't given instead of guessing. Every recipe keeps a link back to the original video and names the cook who made it.
FROM WHEREVER YOU FIND A RECIPE
• Paste a link, or share a video to Kawali straight from the app you're watching it in
• Snap a photo of a cookbook page or a printed recipe, or pick up to four photos from your library
• Paste a recipe you copied from a website or a message
• No talking in the video? Kawali watches it, fills in the steps shortly after, and lets you know when they're ready
• Write down your own family recipes with Make Your Own
REVIEW BEFORE YOU SAVE
Every recipe opens for review first. Fix a name, change an amount, reorder the steps, or frame the photo, then save it to your recipes.
A GROCERY LIST FOR THE WAY YOU SHOP
• Add a recipe's ingredients in a tap, choosing the ones you need
• Items sorted by store section
• The same ingredient from two recipes becomes one line: 4 cloves of garlic plus 6 cloves is 10 cloves
• See which recipe wants what, and set a recipe aside when you're not cooking it this week
• Show the English name under each Filipino name while you shop
• Check things off, clear what's done, or print the list
FIND IT FAST
Search your recipes by name, dish, region, or ingredient, in Filipino or English. Search inside a recipe to jump to every mention of an ingredient. Pin the dishes you cook every week and heart your favorites.

• Photos of printed and handwritten recipes are read much more accurately.
• Recipes read from videos come back more complete, with fewer missed amounts.
• Small improvements throughout.
