Forensic 3D scan & measure
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
3D scan of a body, an object or a room with LiDAR. Measure along the surface, mark findings, PDF report. On device, no cloud, no AI. Free, no limits.
aPrehliadky is a photogrammetric 3D scanner for bodies and objects, built for forensic and medical documentation. It was created for post-mortem examinations, but handles a living person or an object — a stone, a tool, a trace — just as well.
WHAT IT DOES
• Capture with LiDAR: depth and gravity for every frame. The measurement scale comes from the metric camera path (LiDAR + IMU) and the target triangulated in the model — a photogrammetry model is not in metres by itself; every measurement carries ± U (k = 2).
• Reconstruction runs entirely on the device (RealityKit Object Capture) — no upload, no cloud, no account. Classical photogrammetry: no NeRF, 3D Gaussian Splatting or AI-completed geometry — the model is built only from captured data and the report states this explicitly.
• Virtual examination: rotate, zoom, preset views, 1 : 1 view in space (AR).
• Measure: distance (straight line), path along the surface — it follows an uneven, curved surface (wound length, circumference), area (bruise) and volume. Units mm, cm, dm, m, inches and feet with exact conversion; the package always stores mm. A reference of known length verifies the scale.
• Findings on the model: numbered pins with a type (injury, mark, livor mortis, sample) and description; movable, editable.
• Printable calibration target T3 (A4 landscape): circular fiducials found even from 2 m and triangulated in the model (15 known distances), mm scales, grey row, ColorChecker Mini cut-out, caliper print check; several targets as a control network. T2 still works.
• PDF report: case, examiner, capture parameters, method statement, scale verification, findings, measurements, integrity and the SHA-256 of the model.
• 3D documentation certificate: class A–D by the independent routes that substantiate the scale, capture trace, scale verification with uncertainty, hashes, signature and a QR code.
• .f3d package with a SHA-256 of every file and the certificate — the recipient sees on import whether the package was modified. Archive for the case file.
• Reconstruction extent: subject / subject with surroundings / whole scene — the position of a body in a room is a finding in itself.
• Surroundings from LiDAR: the room mesh measured by LiDAR during capture (floor, walls, ceiling, table, door…) as a second, metric, untextured model with nothing filled in — distances of the body from walls and objects, its own findings and measurements, SHA-256 in the report.
• Scan sound: the pitch rises with coverage; themes Bridge, Cosmic, Classic or no sound.
FOR WHOM
Forensic pathologists, examining physicians, pathologists, crime-scene technicians, expert witnesses. aPrehliadky is designed as a possible add-on to ePrehliadky (the software of the Slovak Health Care Surveillance Authority, ÚDZS): the 3D documentation is attached to the record as a package, a report and a certificate. aPrehliadky is an independent app by the author, not a product of ÚDZS.
PRIVACY
The app has no network layer. Frames, models, findings and reports stay on the device until you export them yourself. No analytics, no advertising.
FREE, NO LIMITS
All features are available without payment. Anyone who wishes can become a donor — an optional one-time fee through the App Store that unlocks nothing.
REQUIREMENTS
iPhone or iPad with iOS 18; LiDAR (Pro models) recommended. On a Mac with Apple Silicon it runs as a “Designed for iPad” app: package import, examination, measuring and the report — capture and model processing on iPhone/iPad. Reconstruction is computationally demanding — minutes; leave the phone on the charger.
A documentation tool that supports professional judgement and does not replace it. It is not a certified measuring instrument; accuracy depends on capture conditions and should be verified with a reference of known length. The user is responsible for the lawfulness of capture and handling of the documentation.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• A case of several scans: up to 600 frames per session (the iPhone computes a preview from the best 200 — Apple's limit, the Mac all of them), library grouped by case, a detail scan assigned to a finding, the report lists the other scans of the case
• Guide “Crime-scene examination: body and surroundings” (About, web)
• Targets T3.1/T3.2: the QR code drawn as vectors — crisp in print
• New measurement kind Polyline: the sum of straight segments (body length with flexed limbs: crown–hip–knee–heel); “along the surface” is shown for Distance only up to 0.5 m
