Every workout is built from what you have actually swum: weekly volume, pace, and how the last session went.
SwimPlan builds your next pool workout from your own swims and your own goals — not from a generic table off the internet.
A PLAN THAT KNOWS YOUR HISTORY
The app reads your swims from Health: weekly volume, average pace, strokes, how often you train. It takes your goal — endurance, technique, speed or race preparation — along with your pool length, the equipment you have and how many sessions a week you swim. Then it writes the session: warm-up, drills, main set, pull, kick, cool-down. Every set carries its distance, repeats, stroke, interval, rest and one short cue about what to watch.
WHY THIS WORKOUT
Each plan explains itself: why the volume is lower today, why the drills run longer, why the main set is shorter than usual. How the last session went — what you finished, how hard it felt — feeds into the next one. Weekly volume grows gradually, never in a jump.
EDIT AND REPEAT
Not up for the full volume today, or left your paddles at home? Adjust the plan before you start — repeats, distance, stroke, rest, equipment — or drop a set entirely. A workout you liked can be swum again without building a new one, and repeating it does not count against your limit.
SWIM IT FROM APPLE WATCH
The plan goes to your wrist. In the water the screen is locked — that is watchOS doing the right thing, so water cannot press buttons. Sets close themselves by the metres you swim, so the whole workout needs no taps at all. The watch records heart rate and distance, and the swim is saved to Health and counts toward your activity rings.
HISTORY AND PROGRESS
Volume by week, distance over 7 and 28 days, average pace per 100 m, sessions per week. Swims from Health and ones you enter by hand live in the same list.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS
• The app is free. There are no in-app purchases.
• The number of plans per month is limited — generating one costs money, and the developer pays for it.
• To build a plan, an anonymous summary of your swims is sent to the server: distances, durations, strokes. No name, no email, no identifiers — the app does not collect them.
• Read access to Health is required. If you have no swims yet, the first workout is built from your level and pool — short and easy.
SwimPlan is not a medical app and does not replace a doctor or a coach. Listen to how you feel, and never swim alone.

Developer Response
• A finished workout can be swum again with “Repeat workout”, without using up your limit.
• The app now speaks Spanish.
• The Health access prompt is now in English — it used to appear in Russian.
• If you close a set by hand while the watch is counting metres itself, it asks first and tells you how far the set still has to go.
• A workout in which nothing was swum can be closed without saving it to Health.
• A new plan sent from the phone waits for the current swim to finish instead of cutting it off.
• Watch buttons now span the full screen width, and the workout screen header no longer breaks after ten minutes.
