Takasa
Measure height by walking
Only for iPhone
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
iPhone
Point, walk, and know how tall it is.
How tall is that building? That tree? That tower?
Takasa measures the height of things around you using only your iPhone's camera and your own footsteps.
■ Two steps
1. Walk away from the target to measure the distance (counted automatically from your steps)
2. Point the camera at the top and line up the crosshair
That's it. Takasa uses trigonometry to calculate and display the height.
■ Goes beyond LiDAR
Apple's built-in Measure app relies on LiDAR, which only reaches about 5 meters.
Takasa calculates from angle and distance instead, so it handles buildings tens of meters tall.
■ Features
・Automatic distance from step counting (manual entry also supported)
・Eye height estimated from your height
・Switch between meters and feet
・Available in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and French
・No account, no data collection
■ Good for
・Satisfying your curiosity about a building you walked past
・Estimating the height of trees, poles and towers
・School projects and city walks
Note: Results are approximate. Sloped ground and stride variation affect accuracy. Not suitable for professional surveying.
